Rising prices are a choice- a choice that our leaders have made to put the interests of the wealthy above the working class. I’m sick of it, and that’s why I’m running for Congress.
Matt Maasdam 🇺🇸

Veteran Navy SEAL, entrepreneur, hockey dad, proud husband, Christian, Michigander. Running for Congress in #MI07 to continue my service to the country.
Thank you, Milton L. Scales, for your support! Milton has spent a lifetime serving Michigan in so many different ways, and I'm grateful to have him standing with our campaign.
In the SEAL Teams, we have a saying: “Long Live the Brotherhood.” The power of brotherhood and sisterhood is being able to rely on each other for help. No one understands this better than unions, and I will have their back in Congress.
Corruption is a huge problem from politicians, and that's on both sides of the aisle. If we want to get serious about cleaning it up, we've got to call it out wherever we see it.
There’s nothing more patriotic than loving your country so much that you want to pitch in and do your part to make it even better. I’m proud to be an American, and I’m proud to fight for the best America we can be.
Thanks to these neighbors in Holt for coming out for a fun discussion this week! This is how we win #MI07- one living room at a time, friends bringing their friends to hear from the campaign, all fired up with the goal of beating Tom Barrett in November.
Freedom means a woman gets to make her own health care decisions- not politicians. Four years after the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, I'll keep fighting to restore those freedoms nationwide.
Juneteenth may have just become a federal holiday in 2021, but in Lansing, the Juneteenth Committee has been commemorating freedom and the end of slavery for 33 years with a month of education, celebration, and culture.
Thank you to the Painters District Council 1M for your support of the campaign - our 8th labor endorsement! I'm proud to have the most labor endorsements of any candidate in the race and ready to fight for Michigan's working men and women every day.
President Obama was the kind of President you want to see in the White House: smart, steady, honorable, and he led with kindness. He’s a good husband, a dad, and role model for our country.
It means a ton to have @pkryan.bsky.social's endorsement. Pat is an Army veteran who served two tours in Iraq, and has become a leading voice in the House on national security, protecting democracy, lowering costs for families, and supporting veterans. Looking forward to joining him in the House!
Beautiful morning for a parade! Happy Yankee Doodle Day, Grand Ledge!
#TeamMaasdam marches, rain or shine! Thanks to everyone who braved the rain to come out to Gizzard Fest in Potterville last night!
📺 WATCH OUR AD: As a Navy SEAL, I fought for the Constitution. President Obama trusted me to carry the nuclear codes. I’m running for Congress to take the fight to Trump. When he attacks our Constitution, MI families pay the price. In the Navy I fought for America. In Congress I’ll fight for you.
Knocking doors! Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day in East Lansing this weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out, whether you were checking out the campaign for the first time or gearing up to knock doors and grow the Team.
I’m proud to have earned the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction. As a dad, a retired Navy SEAL, and a responsible gun owner, I know firsthand that you can respect the Second Amendment *and* take common sense steps to keep our kids safe from gun violence.
@mattmaasdam.bsky.social signed onto our #UnrigWashington campaign because he knows elected officials should be serving the people that voted for them, not themselves or their ultra-wealthy donors.
Yard signs are in and have been going up across #MI07! Haven’t gotten yours yet? Request it at the link below!
Memorial Day is a personal day for me and Laura. Today we’re thinking about the dozens of friends we served with who didn’t make it home, and many more who made it home but lost their lives to suicide.
No one should go broke just because they get sick. But Tom Barrett voted to gut Medicaid and kill ACA tax credits that 28,000 people in our district were counting on. I’ll fight for your healthcare in Congress - and I’m proud to have Healthcare for Action’s support in that fight.
Never in my lifetime has it been more important to have someone fighting for the middle class, and that's organized labor. I'm proud to stand with the working men and women of IBEW Local 665, and I'm honored to have their endorsement.
The Action Gals are fired up, and so am I! It was great to spend time with this group in Laingsburg last week- women who care deeply about their community and aren't afraid to do something about it.
From last Friday - gas at $4.99 a gallon in Webberville. Tom Barrett voted to give Trump a blank check in Iran and now we’re all feeling the pain.
A friend said recently that it feels like he’s working just to fill up his tank. Every Michigander is feeling the pain. But after all his talk about gas prices in past campaigns, Tom Barrett is supporting the reckless policies that drive costs even higher. Michigan families are paying the price.
MAGA Republicans like Tom Barrett are setting women back decades by imposing more and more restrictions on their reproductive rights. When I'm in Congress, I won't ever back down in the fight for women- not a bunch of guys in DC- to make these decisions.
#TeamMaasdam had hundreds of great conversations on the doors yesterday! We heard: 🔱 Prices are too high-gas is the latest gut punch. 🔱 People are fed up with corruption. Trump has taken it to a new level. 🔱 They’re ready for a Navy SEAL to take on Tom Barrett and win.
Happy May Day! On this day in 1886, workers in Chicago took to the streets demanding an 8-hour workday- and helped build the middle class.
As a hockey dad, I’ve made the rotisserie chicken run more times than I can count. It’s fast, affordable, and feeds the whole family.
The other day Tom Barrett brushed off high gas prices as a matter of “national security.” What about our families’ economic security, as they ration groceries to fill up the tank? What's the plan, Tom?
