He/Him. Optimist in bleak midwinter.
Obviously things worked out, but Spider-Man is one of the strongest superhero brands in the world, so it's surprising they didn't push for the imax screens in the opening weekend. Still, an excuse to go see that NYC B-Roll compilation on a huge screen. I ain't mad.
BND enthusiasm aside, I’m still sad we’re never going to see her again.
SM3 and ASM2, the most controversial Spideys, each did massive box office. The lowest earners were incredible animated films, which still did great and changed animation. BND’s success is a poor gauge for the health of the MCU. Spidey is huge. But I DO truly hope Doomsday pulls off a miracle.
I wanted my retirement home to be filled with people who remember TGIF, embarrasing AIM chats, and those guys in school who wouldn’t stop quoting Austin Powers in class. Now I’m worried everyone’s going to chatbot themselves into early dementia and I’m going to have to invent one-player pickleball.
I'll give 90s Marvel cartoons this: There may have been extremely uneven animation, a lot of ROUGH CGI experimentation and mel-o-drama on a truly ER-level scale, but there were some dang engaging shows.

This has to be the most any Spider-Man actor has spent in the suit in one movie, right?
I had a great time at Spider-Man 4: Spidey Hawaii. That is all I’ll say until more people have seen it.

All these years later I still love a Nightcrawler episode. Kurt is just the best.

It's kind of fascinating how many ways an artist might draw an ocean within the span of one comic. Maybe none of us really have a great grip on how to do that just right.
Seems kind of unfair that we don't see more televised extreme kayak sports.
Honestly, I think after 2026 they could almost do a Marvel Vs. Capcom remake JUST using the live action versions of the different characters.
See, I think if Jimothy was a Pokemon, his final evolution would be a Dark Crystal Landstrider-looking thing.
So many SDCC toy announcements. All but the one I keep wanting.
Everyone in this new Little House on the Prairie has really clean clothes for people who mostly live outdoors. And bad CGI wolves for some reason.
I like that they keep taking the piss out of Disney.

What’s so interesting about The Odyssey’s sold out shows is that it’s all the premium formats. 70mm, IMAX, Dolby xl. The standard formats are still fairly available.
I guess I don’t NEED a giant Enterprise bridge diorama in my house… not sure where I’d put it. But gosh darn it I want to see one up close.
🖖 BREAKING - Nacelle Toys Unveil #StarTrek "Build-A-Bridge" Playset at #SDCC 2026! Announced earlier this year, the prototype is now on display at the event. The bridge is designed to pair with Nacelle’s 1/10 scale Star Trek action figures! 👀 See it at Booth 2547!
BTW, props to World Cup travelers on coming to my country to loudly boo an all-timer of crappy presidents. You are the real magic of global sporting events.
I remember a local theater jumping the gun and selling Force Awakens tickets months early. Well, the theater had been renovated and had two fewer rows on premiere night, so my seats no longer existed. My party ended up in folding chairs. So no, I will NOT be buying my Doomsday tickets today.
See, I feel like the boss move for Asylum would have been to make an Epic of Gilgamesh movie, almost exclusively starring 90s sit-com actors. Nobody has ambition.
“They aren’t even in the movie that much” doesn’t dismiss your bigotry as effectively as you think it does.
I wish the villain plot of Spider-Noir was less lame, but it’s pretty enjoyable.
Honestly shocked there wasn’t an ad trying to sell me a Honda.
Man. Nolan was all “go woke go… make a damn good movie.” Which is fun because rage bait youtubers NEED to look as foolish as they are. But man… the number of TV commercials mixed in with the movie trailers was out of hand for IMAX. It was nearly 40 minutes before the movie started.

I’m just saying, if I ever win the lottery, there will be SIGNS.
I was with my youngest niece tonight and I think she spent maybe 20 minutes away from her tablet. So I owe Toy Story 5 an apology. It’s realistic, it turns out. Also realized my first niece shares a name with my sister’s old Cabbage Patch doll, so even that plot point is kinda real.
