This post is nearly a year old, but I currently have the feeling it's more urgent than ever: "I am a bad swimmer" https://maurice-renck.de/erzaehlen/2025/der-schlechte-schwimmer

Text. Audio. Code. I'm developing ideas & tools for online publishing and an open web. Working on several Kirby plugins. Posting in german and english. #IndieWeb #openWeb #getkirby
RE: https://mstdn.social/@iamkonstantin/117007557240401452 Wow, it's really awful to read the replies about passkeys, to be honest.
After watching #Backrooms in the cinema, this train station on the way back home really spreads its special charm.
I just stopped the SearXNG Container on my NAS. It's too slow on that machine and I got errors from search engines too often. I found myself getting annoyed and switched back to other engines. So, goodbye for now.
Here is a little sneak peek of the Kirby Obsidian Sync plugin. I am already testing around and will submit both of them soon, I guess. https://maurice-renck.de/en/kirby/kirby-obsidian-sync #getkirby #KirbyCMS #obsidian #sync
Auf LinkedIn erzählt mir gerade jemand: "Dein sauberer Code kostet dich jetzt bares Geld." Die grandiose Idee: Tests weglassen, Team reduzieren, QA weg … alles Overhead > Es gilt: Weniger Code = weniger Tokens = weniger Kosten. > Beweis: fertiges Produkt, 2 Wochenenden, ~40 % meines
I had a short night today and am tired af. I am currently working on the obsidian kirby sync plugin. I was just wondering, why the hell the panel button wouldn't open the linked file in obsidian… took me more than 10 minutes to realize that I deleted all files in obsidian and don't have any which
Junited 2026 is over, and once again, I only managed to create a handful of links. I wonder if these kinds of blogging events are even for me. https://maurice-renck.de/en/blog/2026/junited-recap
Although producing our podcast has always been a lot of fun, this is the official end of it after almost six months of inactivity. https://maurice-renck.de/en/blog/2026/server-side-stories

So when you start typing a common command, some sort of select box opens and it catches your keyboard focus, so you cannot keep typing. You also cannot type in the select, you have to use the arrow
Service announcement: The only appropriate movie to watch during this heatwave is probably Barton Fink.
Oh, that's sad, Om Malik was one of those writers I read again and again. Rest in peace. https://om.co/2026/06/24/1966-2026/

I just killed the website for my Kirby podcaster plugin. I was keeping it for too long because there were those "support the development" possibilities on the site. I just moved the docs to my site. Now all the plugins are in one place, which makes it easier to maintain the documentation, etc.
The newsletter feature coming with Mastodon 4.6 also looks very interesting. Could be a good starting point for users who don't want to create an account but follow users. Maybe then the next step is to eventually create an account. #mastodon
I just started a new #getkirby collection here on Mastodon, please let me know if you want to be added: https://mastodon.online/collections/116769879481433457
Version 4.6 of Mastodon Collections introduces lists of users to make it easier to find accounts on specific topics. https://maurice-renck.de/en/blog/2026/mastodon-collections

oh yeah, in terms of good news- I haven't seen anyone talking about this??? In short- worst case scenario of 4C warming by 2100 is no longer possible, new worst-case is 2.8C now DOES NOT MEAN we just relax- the only way we got here is through hard work- but it means THE HARD WORK IS WORKING
Over at "anmut und demut" Benjamin writes about reusing dungeons, and I immediately thought of two things. https://maurice-renck.de/en/blog/2026/dynamische-dungeons
