- finished STEV. Posting it so it's somewhere - STEV (Standardised Equivalent Value) is a logarithmic scale for a lens's h-fov ​• 1 STEV = 45° h-fov • +1 STEV halves the view • -1 STEV doubles the view STEV 0 = wide STEV 1 = fulcrum STEV 2 = portrait STEV 3 = tele STEV 4 on = more tele alt text

STEV 1.2 "feels" right to me and is the 50mm full that I learnt on. 35mm apsc feels better IMO, I alwalys felt 50full was a touch wide :) STEV 1.8 (50apsc) is a very happy place for me and prefered over 85full.

The STEV system is proving to be versitile and useful. I'm understanding fov (from my own touchy feely experience) far better than full frame equivelant has ever achieved. All whilst leaving diag-fov on it's throne :) xx
