cool cartoonist & neurotic little freak. adult man, he/him. pfp by winguro.bsky.social. you can read my webcomic at whathappensnext.webcomic.ws and you can give me money at patreon.com/maximumgraves. commissions: closed.

the ideal user to these people is like, some guy called Based Legend Ralph whose real name is joseph totino-burkewitz. he has 60 million followers, at least 2/3rds of which are bots. he posts ai videos that feature racist caricatures of immigrants getting beaten up by muscular cops.

i'm so tired of trying to use an app or a website like a normal person and then the ceo will be like "i don't see enough racists on my app and that means it's a total failure. i need everyone who uses my app to get super fucking racist right now, or i'm going to kill myself in front of you"

you might wonder "max, why are you posting so much on bluesky when you're supposedly too busy to work on the comic right now" and the answer is that i'm posting this from my phone because i don't have any wifi and my desk isn't set up. but also because i use my time poorly

does anyone think anything about bluesky? i feel like normal people don't even know what it is. are they talking about bluesky on newsmax or something, or is this guy just termsearching "bluesky" on twitter, or what

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

the thing about shanley is that when a guy online has kind of over-the-top but entertaining hot takes, people can kind of laugh along and be like "he's so crazy, but sometimes he's weirdly insightful" but when a woman does it people are just like "wow! what a dumb bitch"

everybody laughed at shanley but she was right about this actually. if all of us had listened we could've been spared (for example) the existence of a barstool sports podcast called "call her daddy"

hi, unfortunately i will unexpectedly have to take the week off whn. i moved from my temporary living space into an apartment, and it has made me busier than i thought. next week's update will be an extra-long one, and i will also be back to drawing/posting commissions. thanks for your patience.

growing up i had a vocal tic where i compulsively repeated part of what i had just said, but quieter. i never noticed when i was doing it, but people pointed it out to me sometimes. then sometime in my late teens the tic went away forever. don't really know what that was about

I like that one Misfits song about the Kennedy assassination but then Danzig starts singing about having sex with Jackie Kennedy, which to my knowledge he never actually did, and in any event it hardly seems like the time or the place.

in my early 20s i knew this gay guy who was not only a virgin but also didn't jack off. he had an encyclopedic knowledge of pitchfork album scores, like you could say an album and he'd know it was a 7.4 right off the dome. i can only assume it was extreme sexual repression that enabled this power

i hear so much music now that is obviously emo rap but they're usually not calling it that because that's not a cool thing to be doing. or it sounds like sleigh bells but no one who listens to it has heard of sleigh bells for some reason

2019 Defunctland video: "In 1989, the Walt Disney corporation was feeling the heat from the Six Flags Dick Smasher and wanted a one of their own" (20 mins) 2025 Defunctland video: (single very serious plaintive piano note) "Since the dawn of time... Man... Has always tried to eat a snack" (3 hours)

for a long time i didn't think i could be experiencing chronic pain or fatigue bc i assumed that i would have noticed somehow if i was in more pain than a usual person. but not really bc i had nothing to compare it to. i did notice being more tired than most people but figured that was my fault

weirdly heartbroken that the goofy edgelord who makes the "welcome to the game" series was forced to tone down his fake Evil Dark Web websites for the third installment bc of tightening steam content guidelines.
