Why are there no carols for Thanksgiving, or Halloween? Are there no meaningful songs, no societal chorus of once-familial phrases and ideas about some special day that can be warped and co-opted into our national corporate ideology? I know we can profit off this 3 or 4 months if we spin it right.

If anyone is alive to look back on this period of our history, they will note that our biggest mistake was believing air would be clean no matter how much we burn, food would offer nourishment without plastic or poison, and that when you turn on the faucet water comes out that you can drink.

Don't focus on stopping #datacenters from being built. They are building them somewhere. Focus on protecting and managing water & energy. The things we depend on to exist, they require more of. This is now a siege. Starve them out. Humans before machines. Humans before profit. Humans before data.

Elections in the United States would be required to continue during martial law or if the Insurrection Act is invoked, as the President lacks the authority to cancel federal elections. U.S. federal elections have never been postponed, even during major crises such as the Civil War or World War II.

Constitutional Mandates: The U.S. Constitution sets specific dates and term limits for federal officeholders that cannot be changed by presidential order. The president's term ends at noon on January 20th regardless of whether an election has occurred. Congressional Authority: The authority to alter the timing of federal elections rests with Congress, not the President. Any attempt by a president to unilaterally change the election schedule would be considered unconstitutional. State Administration: Elections are administered by individual states, which would make a nationwide cancellation by the federal executive extremely difficult to implement legally. Historical Precedent: Presidential elections have been held on schedule during numerous past crises, including the War of 1812, the Civil War (1864), and two World Wars. Insurrection Act: The Insurrection Act allows the president to deploy military forces to suppress civil unrest or enforce federal law, but it does not grant the authority to override the Constitution or suspend elections. The military is bound by the Constitution and would be expected to refuse any blatantly illegal orders to interfere with the election process. Any attempt by a president to use emergency powers to cancel or indefinitely postpone an election would be a violation of their oath of office and an unconstitutional act, likely leading to a constitutional crisis.

How consoling to know that someday soon the world will no longer be subjected to horrible people bent on destroying or controlling or owning everything. We will not have to see their faces, hear their lies, feel the corruption, the poverty, the killing. The loss. Ever again. Just life minus them.
