I can’t help think of the fact that Katie Porter just went from frontrunner to nonstarter in the CA gov race for exactly this kind of behavior. The double standard for white men in leadership is appalling, and so are his actions. Ken Martin should resign. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/26/u...

Inside the Phone-Throwing Drama at the Troubled, Broke Democratic Party (Gift Article)

The Democrats should be well positioned to make gains in this year’s midterms. But inside party headquarters, every week brings paranoia, worries about money and, on occasion, emotional eruptions.

Fantastic article from @maragay.bsky.social and reveals an important opportunity to reframe this debate: The status quo doesn’t work for people. Instead of demanding perfection from new ideas, let’s acknowledge that we currently have a system that isn’t working and new ideas that might.

The cautious centrists and center-left politicians who have dominated the Democratic Party for so long have failed. Voters see this, which is why the uprising within the Democratic Party is unlikely to be contained. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/14/o...

We are capitalist, not socialist” More than a dozen Congressional Democrats and other Dems running for office have signed a pledge to uphold centrist policies after the recent surge in progressive wins across the country. They are massively missing the point of what the voters are telling us.

I’m running to replace Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate. Working people in Kentucky and across the country are tired of billionaires and corrupt politicians stomping on us and making it too expensive to survive. Let’s show them what loving your neighbor truly looks like. Let’s fight back.

“There is a myth that a significant number of moderate voters only vote Republican out of desperation, and if Democrats stood for *less*, we’d get those votes. But there’s no proof for this theory.” - my thoughts on what Dems need to do next.

"The Democratic Party won’t be the Democratic Party without unflinching social justice activism. It’s part of our DNA ... And it also won’t win elections," writes Executive Vice President at Blue State @mayarupert.bsky.social.

Good morning to the dreamers. Good morning to those who see hate and choose love. Good morning to those who want to end poverty. Good morning to those who want to change the status quo instead of capitulating to it. There is great work for us to do together. Let’s tie up our shoes and get to it.

To every New Yorker who listened to these racist smears and thought “she doesn’t represent me” and decided in that moment to run for office - whether local office or to unseat Gillibrand in 2030 - I cannot wait to meet you.

Senator Gillibrand called on Al Franken to resign. I think she should resign for falsely smearing Zohran Mamdani as a terrorist. He has never invoked a ‘global jihad’. This is a nasty, Islamophobic racist smear from a sitting Dem senator.

I admit I was very confused about the reasoning behind the trade, but as a Lakers fan, the only thing that could make me happier about Luka coming to LA is if Chick Hearn were still around to consistently mispronounce his name. #LakeShow
