Also...this boy is getting his first dental cleaning today. This is exciting because we started the summer thinking he had liver cancer. he does have cirrhosis, but it’s managed well enough that we can bother to take him to, essentially, the dentist!

Perhaps my biggest pet peeve is people who ask for my advice but then argue against it when I'm giving it to them. If you don't want it, don't ask!

Thanks @jerryedwards.bsky.social. This answered a question I had but hadn’t asked. Curious what others think. I submitted a little less than a week ago and haven’t had any responses. I also wonder if the answer differs based on time of academic year.

I posted about hiring over on LinkedIn, and I don't know who this guy is, what he's getting at, or if he's taking a dig at some very talented colleagues of mine or *my husband*. No, you don't need one. But what does help is not being a jerk.

As some of you know, Brian Frye and I spend our summers in Mexico City, and try to go to another city in Mexico we’ve never been to every summer. This year we’re in Guadalajara, and we visited Tlaquepaque yesterday afternoon. 1/5

Run #2 here in GDL. I got out early before the heat and it made all the difference! Very pleasant.
