A Victorian-era letterpress circus poster from 1843 advertising "Pablo Fanque's Circus Royal" at Town Meadows in Rochdale. The black and white poster, which inspired the Beatles' song "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!", features bold, varied typography and two small woodcut illustrations: a performer balancing on his head on a pole, and an acrobat.
