They still do, at least Nintendo of America does. If you watch a UK Nintendo Direct you'll see that they just say "game" instead of "the [game] game" like in the US. Which means that they make the narrator record two versions of the same line every time he mentions the name of a Nintendo game.

I do not know how it is that Docfuture has an encyclopedic knowledge of every obscure weird-looking thing ever recorded on film, but by God am I glad he’s on our side.

I have an in-progress Animal Crossing essay and an in-progress Final Fantasy XI essay and they have just enough thematic overlap that they feel redundant but if I combined them it would be too unfocused aaaagh

I think the MMORPG genre has untapped potential but there is not a person alive on Earth who has enough time to fully grasp the scope of it, much less to use that wisdom constructively.

You know I hate videogame remakes but sometimes I am deeply tempted because I want a replay an old game I love but also want to do something Different than what I already have done. Even though I know I will enjoy it less than playing the original.

My love for both Final Fantasy XI characters and DRPGs has me seriously tempted to install the Wizardry gacha game for the FFXI collab, but I have to keep reminding myself it’s a still a gacha and looking at disgusting screenshots of the currency menus.

The ongoing superhero comic style project of having to try to make a logical continuity out of 35 years of contradictory game stories written by dozens of different people where the Japanese and English versions don't always agree is wild. I am jealous of the Lore Janitors at TailsTube

feelings about Nintendo are always very complicated. they are the Disney of videogames. they have a megalomaniacal level of control over their brand & huge piles of money in order to play the role they do as global childlike artisans of play. that said, of course i agree with what Miyamoto says here

attention all iPad kids and sickos who use mobile devices to play games, Hypnospace Outlaw comes out on Apple/Google Play tomorrow.

I want to support the Billy Bat english release but I have no fucking space to put (what will eventually be) 20 volumes of manga. I need an otaku from Japan to come and teach me how they fit all their hoarder shit in those tiny rooms like a reverse-Marie Kondo.

In general the current structure of society is really bad for someone like me with choice paralysis who is always obsessing over the other things I could be doing at a current moment. I think I need to be locked up alone with a single game cartridge to truly enjoy it.
