Last year at the end of the season I had a whole bunch of red jalapenos and nothing really to do with them, so I processed them all up into a sauce. Like a hot sauce, but I wouldn't normally make a hot sauce w/ just jalapenos b/c they aren't really that hot. But the color was perfect and ...

Great thread. I don't play trad games, so maybe I don't fully get the issue at stake, but ... Do these people just not do buy-in? If I were running a game about exploring dungeons and my players enacted some elaborate scheme to avoid exploring a dungeon, I would simply stop playing that game.

A good example I saw recently was someone saying how they want to be able to get to a dungeon, plug up all the entrances, exits, and holes, and then cast a spell that unleashes a torrent of endless water to flood out the dungeon and drown everyone inside.

Went to a record store w/ my kid (a pretty hip 18 yr old) last weekend. We browsed around for awhile. He came up to me and said, "You know that Cramps album, Bad Music for Bad People?" He knows I like the Cramps, knows I know the album. "Well," he said w/ a smile, "Look a *this*!"

I wrapped up my Soth campaign last night. My players went **so** **hard** and I worry that I failed to match their energy. But it was ... fine. Right? Probably not worth thinking about. I definitely won't think about it. Nope. I'll think about something else.

This month I'm trying to schedule my (3) regular tables in parallel rather than serially. In practice, this means I sent out my scheduling inquiries all at once. I *think* this will up my chances of getting all three tables on the calendar w/o conflicts. I'll let you know how it goes.

House painter here. This isn't a "house flipper" thing. This is just the current variation on a standard practice. If you're going to put a house on the market, you give it a fresh coat of paint, you're likely to make it something neural - a blank slate the buyers can project their preference on.

No fuck off we're not calling this "Millennial grey" this shit was dictated completely by boomer retiree house flippers we absolutely had NO say in this

Millennial grey

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A kitchen with beige grey floors, drab walls, brushed steel appliances, and grey granite countertops.
Grey floors and furnishings are said to appeal to Millennial tastes.
Millennial grey refers to a desaturated colour scheme that is said to appeal to the interior design sensibilities of the Millennial Generation in the early 21st century.[1] Cultural historian Kassia St. Clair attributed its widespread adoption to a desire among Millennials for "a flexible, sensible choice that will last years, hide any stains, and can be adapted to different schemes."[1] Some have diagnosed Millennial grey as a reaction to the warm hues of the late 20th century.[2]

Millennial grey is polarising, particularly when used with imitation-wood-texture sheet vinyl flooring, which many describe as depressing, soulless, or corporate.[3][4] Although attributed to Millennials, the grey colour scheme is often chosen by house flippers, vacation rental owners, or other people who do not actually live in the greyed properties.[3] Thus, the occupant of the property—Millennial or not—has little say in its colour scheme, particularly when deployed for fixtures such as flooring.[4] The greying may have been driven, in part, by a desire to prepare properties for sale in a manner thought to be least offensive to the average buyer.[5] Given the housing crises gripping many countries in the early to mid-21st century, buyers and renters may feel they have no choice but to accept a property decked in Millennial grey.[4]

To the extent that Millennial grey is said to be enjoyed by Millennials, it is also said to be loathed by Generation Z.[1][2]

The deathbringer demo crowd was all 30-50 yo white men. Chanting, laughing—prof DM really puts on a show. Deathbringer’s art shows you what they find funny. Women are funny. Enemies that look like black people are funny. I am Red Box D&D old. And I thought we ALL had grown up more than this.

From the brilliant mind of Magnolia Keep comes a high-octane look at some kinda gross stuff! Deathbringer is ENWorld's most-anticipated RPG of 2026, it's currently raising hundreds of thousands of dollars, and also the marketing is kinda full of misogyny. magnoliakeep.blogspot.com/2026/07/the-...

I have a table full of regular players who are, obviously, weirdos and gender nonconforming in various ways, but none of them are obviously *queer* (none of my regulars, anyway; we've had some walk-ons). I've been thinking of introducing more overtly queer games, but I'm not sure where to start.

I picked up the 1st Harry Dresden book. I know the series is influential. I watched the TV show and it was ... fine. My partner said it seemed like a male wish-fulfillment fantasy and that's fair. I didn't have super high expectations going in, but it's so so much worse than I expected.
