The 3 stages of Elephant garlic: Full bulb, a round and a tiny corm. It takes a year to produce a round from a corm, and another year to produce the bulb from the round or a clove. A clove planted in fall should yield a full bulb 8-9 mos. later. Some harvest rounds in summer to replant in the fall.

Will small space, backyard, & container gardens across the country feed everyone? Maybe not. Will it help? Most likely. Should we do it regardless? Definitely! For context, I've been growing 60-90% of my own produce in an NYC backyard garden for almost a decade. It works. Resistance is fertile 🌱🌱🌱

I got my first ant bite of the year today, probably a harvester ant. It hurts like hell. The first Google recommendation was ice. The second was salt. Citrus helps with the itch, and somewhere in there alcohol was suggested. This should help. (internet ant image)
