tw suicide a bit scared about posting this but here

first part of a tumblr post. it reads

"tw suicide

something terrifying about being suicidal in the bfdi world where recovery is definite as long as someone remembers you and youre not banned from reviving. its like you have to go through two deaths: social death and actually dying

im thinking about leafy while writing this and its just. shes on that weird border of suicidal ideation between keeping on living and actually committing suicide. she actively doesnt want to die (bfdia 21) because shes currently with pin, who was her old friend, and leafy thinks she has a chance to mend things with her. she still wants to be friends with everyone again, but at the same time its easier to commit and stay in limbo.

but... firey revived her.

and thats what kept her spark to keep on living and trying to make friends until shes at her tipping point by the end of bfdia 21 and the entirety of bfdia 22 where she realizes nobody Actually wants to be her friend. but bubble and flower keep her afloat for the rest of bfdia because their company sustains her and makes her keep on believing that she still has a chance

then bfdia 25 happened: book came and turned into her angel... in a way... leafy is not as enthusiastic as before but book's willing to hang out with her kept her light burning. leafy wants to keep on living because she still has the chance to make friends again, yet book confronts her with a "dream island or friends"... and i think thats what broke leafy"

second part of the post. it reads

"leafy couldve easily escaped since shes a leaf and can safely jump off the cliff, but she accepted her death as she thought "nobody cares about me anymore". she wanted to die, but book spared her and told her to leave, but leafy didnt want to! shes stubborn about what she wants and still hangs around where the others are! yet book is the one who she clings to the most because that act of mercy is making leafy hope that theres still a chance for friendship.

IDK how to explain this better but leafy both wants to live and die; she lives, anticipating for a better life with friends, and she dies, letting everything go and giving herself peace. she holds onto every chance, opportunity, hope to make amends, so she doesnt kill herself, but she would let herself die if she believed theres nothing else for her

she never died in the minds of others. shes remembered, and thats why shes still alive"
