Just can't get enough of @volko.bsky.social's "Coast Watchers" by @gmtgames.bsky.social. Probably my game of the year. Looking forward to the other games in the Recon Series.
First play of "In the shadows" by @danbullock.bsky.social & @josephnschmidt.bsky.social, released by @gmtgames.bsky.social, in over a year. What an elegant game! Honestly I don't know why it took so long to bring it back to the table. Love the mix of classic CDG with a COIN feel. 👌🏼
I recently revisited The British Way by @gmtgames.bsky.social as it is my go-to game when I want to introduce new people to the COIN system. I chose the Palestine scenario, as it has all the essential mechanics without some of the more complicated concepts like control, support or geography.
First play of "Twilight Struggle" by @gmtgames.bsky.social in almost 2 years. That's kind of embarrasing. Still, such an elegant design. Won't let it happen that this game doesn't get played for such a long time.
New game is out ! You can back Napoleon 1870 on Kickstarter NOW www.kickstarter.com/projects/sha...

What an elegant classic! 👌🏼 Twilight Struggle by @gmtgames.bsky.social. First time on the table in almost two years. A mistake I don't want to make again.
"Baltic Empires" by Brian Asklev, art by @zweigefuhle.bsky.social and released by @gmtgames.bsky.social. What a beautiful game in every aspect. It comes across as a very simple game, but oh boy, this has layers. Lot's of levers you can pull on your way to victory. You just have to see them.
Another play of @volko.bsky.social s "Coast Watchers" by @gmtgames.bsky.social. First time we were going for a 5 turn scenario. Tight game, the Japanese won with 3 points! Managed to do some rescues and flood the islands with CWs, but my opponent was clearing a path good for his OPs. Great game!
¡No pasarán!
Der Spanische Bürgerkrieg hat mich schon von Jugendtagen an interessiert. Als jemand der in der Punk- und Hardcoreszene sozialisiert wurde, kam ich selbstverständlich schon sehr früh in Kontakt mit…

Finally sharing a preview of my upcoming game, Napoleon 1870, designed with my friend Brian Asklev (Baltic Empires), and published by Shakos (Napoleon 1806). We had a ton of fun designing it and are excited for the campaign to start on @kickstarter.com the 22nd of September ! youtu.be/xmaLSbrNmqQ

Play 3 & 4 of @gmtgames.bsky.social Coast Watchers by @volko.bsky.social. First time I also played with the Allied. From this first experience I find them a bit harder to play, but just as much fun as the Japanese. Looking forward to dive deeper into the game and see all it's nuances. 👌🏼

First play of Indonesia by #SplotterSpellen and I'm truly amazed. Such an amazing design. Extremely deep with a really small ruleset. Every decision counts. Exactly how I love it. 👌🏼

Doing some research on catch up mechanisms and positive player experience in Game Design? Any good recommendations on books or articles ❓
@zweigefuhle.bsky.social will you also do the art for Enlightenment Empires?
In a couple of weeks we have a mini-con here. Wanted to start to prepare the rules for Baltic Empires from @gmtgames.bsky.social early. Wow! Really not complex rules, but oh boy, I can already see the trash talk, bribing, backstabbing. Love when games get deep through interaction. 🗡️🪓🛡️
First plays of Coast Watchers by @volko.bsky.social and released by @gmtgames.bsky.social leave me amazed! It's been a long time since a game flashed me that much. Hats off! 🎩 Could become one of my favorite games and I'm already looking forward to future games in the Recon Series. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Seljuk by @gmtgames.bsky.social got played again and of course in our second play the rules flowed much more. In our first play the rules were a bit much to remember, but once you get a few plays in, this game runs smoothe like an oiled machine.
