One of my incredibly minor pet peeves with farming sims is when the sugar-producing crop is cane sugar but you're living in a temperate climate. Beets are right there, man!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm I dunno whether I should start Fields of Mistria now or wait until 1.0 officially releases tomorrow............................................................................ I really wanna play it..................................................
I said I wasn't going to add Guardians of Azuma to my ranking, but I did so anyway. Overall: fine game! Terrible farming sim. Here's the rankings as they currently stand

I play every farming sim to a natural stopping point and then put it on this list

I have 2 days to finish Guardians of Azuma before Fields of Mistria comes out. can I make it, or will the repetitive dungeons grind me into a fine paste
The characters in Guardians of Azuma review/re-state their plans they just established so often you'd think this was a Netflix original
Story of Seasons cows are like pugs in that they were once perfectly cute but an extra decade of selective breeding has mutated them into something grotesque that should not exist
I've been trying to be less mean to games on social media but there's really no other term for the cutscene animation/cinematography in Guardians of Azuma besides "pure dog water" If you're lucky, it's shot-reverse shot with no acting. If you're unlucky you get to spin the camera around
I started playing Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma for my farming sim project, but ultimately I don't think I'm going to rank it. About 5 minutes after they introduce farming, they introduce a way to automate it away completely. It's more of an open worldy fighty kinda game
Y'know, there's a lot to criticize about bokujo monogatari/harvest moon/story of seasons, but innovation and iteration is one of the lowest on the list. Entries have been trying new, wild ideas that work out about 50% of the time since the Gamecube era.
Nearing the end of Rune Factory 3 Special. My big takeaway from this is that more indie farming sim devs need to play Rune Factory because a lot of "innovations" in indie farming sims are just reinventing RF from first principles
Rune Factory 3 like: The weather changes throughout the day! Rune Factory 3 dislike: sometimes it changes to the Fuck You And All Your Crops weather and there's nothing you can do to stop it from fucking you and all your crops except reset the game
Farming sim enjoyers who like men owe it to themselves to play a single otome game (besides hatoful boyfriend)
A side note to farming sim project: despite how these games have large item catalogues and interlocking systems that basically demand to be turned into guide wikis, the actual guides/wikis for most of these games are in a very dire state
So far, my main problem with RF3S (besides the extremely dire dating pool) is that it's a very bad PC port and I moreso wanna play it on a handheld. There's been moments of this game where I go "oh shit, this has sauce" which is a relief
Next farming sim up: Rune Factory 3 (Special). The writing in this one isn't boring but it is majorly cringe, and I can't decide if that's better than the boring I've been having

Flight Rising, a site that featured a vocal transphobe on its founding team, removed all references to Harry Potter today. So what's your excuse for holding on
I wish Starbound was a good game that was fun to mod
Ough I wanna draw for artfight but I also wanna play video games....
Really wish there was a video game with enemies to lovers(?) wlw where one chases the other across the globe because her and her crew are being gay and doing crimes.... Oh wait that's Snap & Grab! 💃📸 store.steampowered.com/app/897160/S...
I'm so bored that I calculated exactly when I'd hit 90% done and pushed through to that. Taking a break right now. It's incredibly tragic because this game has one of the strongest starts of *any* BokuMono title
At the 80% mark and I'm feeling miserable. I've succeeded my mission of maxing out all friendships and now everything else I could possibly work towards is time gated. The game has a built in subsystem that skips time forward 6 hours and I'm abusing it. This seems like a failure of design
It's my partner's birthday you literally have to be nice to him
There's not an in-game "time played" counter in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, so I'm not sure how long I played, other than it feels like Too Long. Just started year 5 and I'm unenthused about having to play two more full years Still better than Coral Island though
I'm messing around with website stuff so I changed my handle again
Absolutely an instant back for me; my only regret is that I wasn't an hour earlier so I could grab the limited print of the orrery. I played this last year with my boyfriend and five relative strangers and came out the other end with five new friends & one of my favorite RPG experiences ever
SEVEN-PART PACT, my fantastical ornate TTRPG about powerful wizards, asymmetrical board games, and the pressures of masculinity is now launching on kickstarter! www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjg...
Heyo #PortfolioDay! I'm Cessia and since 2019 I've been a Level Designer & 3D Environment Artist for this neat game called Snap & Grab 📸💎 Currently looking for some freelance or short-term contract work so please slide me some projects ;) Website/Contact/Portfolios: castillodepaz.carrd.co
My list of farming sims is currently on Backloggd and features just one game. Considering building a small website for it instead, but for now, you can check out my opinions here: backloggd.com/u/Yako/list/...

In year 3 of 6 of SoS:AWL now and my opinion of it is that it's much better than the original by virtue of each life stage being only a year. I'm getting really into the crop hybridization and I'm looking forward to influencing more of my child's development
Playing game #2 for my farming sim ranking project, which happens to be Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (the remake of the Gamecube game.) Growing up this was my least favorite Bokumono title, but GOD is it leaps and bounds ahead of Coral Island
My thesis on romance in farming sims: the hard maximum amount of dateable NPCs you can have is 20, and that's really pushing it. Any higher and your dating pool turns to monotonous sludge. There's just no way for teams the size of most farming sims to write 20 compelling romance stories
