i know I say this every week but: patron doesn't know what "pdfs" are but was told she needs to fill one out so she searched "pdf reader" on google play and got some shitty garbage adware reader program because that's all that google play is filled with it's so. fucking. bleak. man

helping an old lady get into her email on the desktop. defaults to asking for a passkey. she doesn't know what that is. the use password option is buried under another click. gotta click through the recovery email setup. gotta click through the onedrive nag. it's so fuckin bleak for normies, man

"are people going to think this is AI-written because I'm using a semi-colon?" no fuck you. i've used the semi-colon for years; I'm not giving up something that so perfectly fits my natural speech pattern and the way I like my sentences to flow because of sam fuckin altman's dweebish ass

"fiction normalizes—" idk abt any of that but I think social media has normalized absolutely batshit behavior and social conventions that are inconceivable to anyone that is actually well-balanced and thriving in the real world and that's a bigger problem than fiction will ever be

i saw something on bsky. want more info about it. I search for a news article. TIME is the first result to appear. Sure, fine, whatever. Start reading. Box pops up, covers half the screen. AI chat prompt: "Ask me anything!" Can I ask you to get the fuck out of my way so I can read?

lrt: people will go to some AI bot and write forty paragraphs of prompting to get what they want out of the computer and to prevent it from hallucinating when "tell computer exactly what I want it to do" is already a thing
