If you’re ever close to Addington, Oklahoma, try to plan time for a stop at the Jesus Gospel Park. Really. It’s a place you just need to see for yourself. Oh, and is it just me, or does the Book of Life appear to have been written in…barbed wire? Addington, Oklahoma photographed 7.23.2026

The cemetery had this sign posted at every entrance. And no matter how many times I saw it, I could not figure out what it was meaning to tell me. It seems pretty important, but I never could get it. Kellyville, Oklahoma 7.24.2026

Yesterday I spent a sizeable portion of the day working on an abstract monotype (plot twist!!) and I guess my brain was really into it. When I went out to grab some dinner I saw an abstract image right there in front of me… Lubbock, Texas photographed 8.1.2026 #abstract

I can always tell when I’m working hard to get a shot lined up, because I hold the tip of my tongue a certain why. Apparently, the placement of it triggers the “photo composition” part of my brain. Or, you know, something like that… Route 66 Bristow, Oklahoma photographed 7.24.2026

Seeing this woman undressing the mannequin – and catching it in time to get the shot! – was the best thing all day. The second best thing was when that same woman, after noticing me and my camera, came outside and apologized for getting in the shot. Route 66 El Reno, Oklahoma photographed 7.26.2026

I don’t even like this photo very much. My apologies for posting. (I edit in advance of when I post, so a week or so ago, I did like it. What changed? Beats me, but, man am I ever in a shitty mood. Anyway, whatever I post on August 1 will not be a photo I actively dislike!) Portland, Maine 3.15.26

DO NOT get photographers started on LED lighting, which doesn’t provide those starbursts in photos the way “real” lights do. I had a sense of future nostalgia when I made this image a few months ago…there are more and more LEDs every time I am out taking photos at night. Portland, Maine 3.15.2026

What can I say? I’m a sucker for a KitchenAid mixer. And a turquoise window frame? Yes, please. And old bricks? Certainly. And a photo of all of it? But, of course. Portland, Maine photographed 3.15.2026

Mostly, I made this shot to honor that one baluster was leaning all the way over on its neighbor. Because that’s what neighbors are for, right? South Solon Meetinghouse Solon, Maine photographed 3.21.2026

The choir loft at the meetinghouse was nice, once I got used to the steep and narrow stairs. There was good light. There were pews for the choir members. And hymnals. And an organ that had very definitely seen better days. South Solon Meetinghouse Solon, Maine photographed 3.19.2026
