“By making it harder and harder for workers to organize and bargain collectively, the rich seized more and more income and wealth, destroying the US middle class,” @rbreich.bsky.social writes in the foreword of the report. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Tripling US union membership would shift $1.2tn to workers annually – report

More density would also narrow racial pay gaps, while a decline in density correlated to surges in wealth inequality

it’s wild that the dude who promised to put “america first” is giving billions of dollars to argentina & israel but is going to great lengths to allow potentially millions of americans go hungry. with this & foreign aid for poverty relief getting cut down, it seems like trump just hates poor people

democrats don’t need to move center, give up on progressive values, or compromise on issues to win elections. Zohran Mamdami just proved it. all the “the democrats lost in 2024 because they were too left” people need to shut the hell up forever

Breaking News: Zohran Mamdani, a 34-year-old state lawmaker from Queens, will be the 111th mayor of New York. He will be the first Muslim to ever lead the city, as well as its first South Asian mayor and the youngest mayor in more than a century. nyti.ms/47O4mT0

i was going through a family photo album today & i found two random photos of possums, just next to some family and vacation pictures. i love that my grandma thought the possum pictures were important enough to be included in a photo album that’ll be passed down from generation to generation

i just started watching titanic earlier this week and i want to watch an extended cut with all of fabrizio’s scenes. if a movie is going to be over three hours long, it can take 15 minutes to show me that these side characters are real people, especially if it also includes their deaths

all of my “fun facts” related to my family are stuff like “we lost track of where my uncle’s remains are,” “my grandma got arrested on drug charges twice,” or “my mom saw her dad’s ghost once when she was a child,” which are all normal things i can casually drop into a conversation

the craziest thing about old newspapers is that they’d just put your address in articles. like i recently came across an article from the early 1970s about someone getting arrested and it both identified her by her whole government name and gave out her home address???

things need to stop happening. to me and to everybody else. there’s too many things going on right now and i haven’t had time to process any of it. we should all just get to take a month to digest everything before anything else happens

white dudes will just say shit like they think justice and fairness exist in american systems. “you can’t just kill people and get away with it” “you can’t just deport people” you can get away with a lot of things if you’re a rich white dude with political or financial power

so today i learned that female reindeer have antlers too and they lose them in the spring vs male reindeer who lose their antlers in the fall. this isn’t relevant to anything but i just think it’s a neat little fun fact that i didn’t know until today

this is my cat kirby she’s about seven and a half months old. her hobbies include playing with hair ties, eating spiders, and jumping into any drawer, cabinet, box, basket, or bag that she can find.

A tuxedo cat sitting inside an unzipped brown backpack. The cat is looking directly at the camera. A tuxedo cat laying down in an empty open dresser drawer, towards the back. The cat’s head above her eyes is obscured by part of the next drawer up. The cat is looking at something past the camera.

the funniest part of adhd is talking with someone about one thing, comparing that to another thing, getting into a deep conversation about that other thing and then going back to the first conversation. which is how people end up saying stuff like “how did we go from shag carpet to my brain tumor?”
