Opened the book mail today & went straight to the piece I was telling my wife about. I wanted her to read it. No, I wanted to read it to her, the way I heard @pdforan.bsky.social read it not long ago. So I did. And I cried the same way I did when Pat read it to us. This is a beautiful collection.

Cover of Pat Foran's book "Songs from the Blimp Ruins" containing 60 flash pieces that runs the gamut of emotions. My copy included this postcard that is sticking out of the book of a movie poster containing Sophia Loren.

One of my visual art pieces, “2 orange threads” is featured in the latest issue of Trailer Park Quarterly: 9” x 12” collage on canvas (includes vintage book pages and magazine and catalog scraps plus an instruction manual from a recently purchased frying pan.)

In an essay, poet John Haines, who went off grid to homestead in the Alaskan wilderness and wrote poems about it, inverted the phrase "sense of place" to "place of sense" for those places that flood the senses and live in us. Reading these gems, I am reminded of that and of my own place of sense.
