Meow Mission Coalition
@meowmission.bsky.social
501(c)(3) #TNR group in Western Maryland. Founded in May 2024 by a group of #catrescuers who saw how much our community needed help with the overpopulation of #communitycats. #cats #spayandneuter #tnrsaveslives #maryland www.meowmissioncoalition.org
MMC is run by a handful of volunteers with full-time jobs. We trap cats after work. We transport to vet appointments on our days off. We spend weekends fundraising instead of relaxing. Imagine what we could accomplish with more volunteers, more fosters, and more community support.
💭 We wish more people knew that burnout in animal welfare is real. Behind every rescued kitten, every TNR appointment, every fundraiser, and every late-night message is a person trying their best. Saving animals takes a village. Caring for the people doing the saving should be part of the mission.
🚨 MMC Reality Check 🚨 Every cat fixed today prevents countless kittens tomorrow. One spay or neuter appointment may not seem like much. It doesn't come with a dramatic rescue story. It doesn't go viral on social media. It doesn't end with adorable adoption photos. But it changes everything.
This shirt gives “I’ve had a long day” energy and honestly… same 🍻🐈 And as always, every purchase helps support Meow Mission Coalition and the cats we help every day 💜 Grab yours before this cat finishes its drink. www.etsy.com/shop/MeowMissi...
Many people think kitten season is just a few weeks in the spring. It can stretch from early spring well into late fall, and in some cases, never truly stops. As temperatures stay mild and unspayed cats continue having litter after litter, rescues and shelters remain overwhelmed for months on end.
"TNR just creates more community cats." The cats are already there. Without TNR, those same cats continue having litter after litter. TNR changes that. TNR prevents them. It's not about adding to the problem. It's one of the only proven ways to end the cycle. Fix. Feed. Save.
Looking for one of the easiest ways to help cats all year long? By becoming a monthly donor, you'll help provide food, litter, medical care, and spay/neuter services for community cats in need. Even small donations make a big difference! www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketi...
We wish more people knew that mom cats often leave their kittens for hours while searching for food. Finding kittens alone can be alarming, but it doesn't always mean they've been abandoned. If you find kittens outdoors, remember: "Alone" does not always mean "abandoned." Watch first, act second.
🚨 MMC Reality Check 🚨 One female cat can have multiple litters every year. Let that sink in. Fix the cats you love. Support TNR. Prevention saves lives. 🐾
Cats, chaos, good vibes, and a little bit of attitude 😎🐾 Every purchase helps support Meow Mission Coalition and the cats we help through TNR, rescue, and medical care 💜https://www.etsy.com/shop/MeowMissionCoalition
💭 We wish more people knew that spaying and neutering improves health and behavior. Spaying and neutering isn't just about preventing litters. It helps cats live healthier, happier lives. Spaying and neutering is one of the kindest things we can do for the cats we love.
We cannot rescue our way out of overpopulation. No matter how many cats we trap. No matter how many kittens we bottle feed. No matter how many late nights volunteers spend at the vet. No matter how many adoptions take place. The solution isn't bigger rescues. The solution is prevention.
Want to know what the best seller is? The Rolling Fatties shirt! This fun design always gets a laugh and supports a great cause. You can grab it as a tee, sweatshirt, hoodie, or long sleeve. Every purchase helps fund our TNR mission. www.etsy.com/shop/MeowMissi...
💭 We wish more people knew that cats can become pregnant as young as four months old. The best way to stop overpopulation is to spay and neuter before it's too late.
🚨 MMC Reality Check 🚨 Behind almost every colony is someone making sure those cats have food, water, and a little bit of kindness. They're the neighbor filling bowls before work. The retiree stretching a fixed income to buy cat food. The family checking on cats during snowstorms and heat waves.
Every month, cats in our community rely on people like you. A monthly gift to Meow Mission Coalition helps provide food, medical care, spay/neuter services, and supplies for community cats who have nowhere else to turn. www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketi...
Bringing home a "free" kitten is exciting, but it’s important to know they come with essential costs for their health! -Vaccinations protect them from serious diseases. -Spay/Neuter prevents overpopulation and reduces behavior issues and health risks. -Routine Check-Ups keep them healthy.
When cats disappear from an area, it can feel like the problem has been solved. But if the food source and shelter remain, new unaltered cats often move in and take their place. Soon, the cycle starts all over again. TNR breaks that cycle.
Forcing a truly feral cat into an indoor lifestyle can be incredibly stressful and frightening for them. Cats are trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to the place they know best, where dedicated caregivers continue to look out for them. Not every cat wants to be adopted.
This shirt is perfect for summer cookouts, fireworks, and showing off your love for cats and country. Every purchase helps support Meow Mission Coalition and the community cats we help every single day 💜https://www.etsy.com/shop/MeowMissionCoalition
Cats who are fixed no longer face the stress of repeated pregnancies, mating, and raising litter after litter outdoors. It can reduce fighting, roaming, and injuries caused by competition. Every cat is vaccinated against rabies and given a chance to recover before returning to their home.
Did you know wet food is one of the best things you can feed your cat? 😺 It keeps them hydrated, supports kidney and urinary health, is protein-rich like their natural diet, and helps with digestion and weight control. A healthy cat is a happy cat!
🚨 MMC Reality Check 🚨 Right now, more than 2,200 cats in our community are waiting for help.
Our Cat Moms Club design is officially here and we are obsessed. Whether you’re covered in cat hair 24/7, getting screamed at for dinner 3 hours early, or losing your side of the bed to your cats… this one is for you. www.etsy.com/shop/MeowMissi...
➡️Why Vaccines Are Vital for Your Cat’s Health! Vaccines are essential to keeping our cats and kittens safe from harmful diseases. The core vaccines, like rabies and FVRCP, protect against serious illnesses and are required for all cats. #cats #shelterworkers
It’s one of the kindest things you can do to prevent unwanted litters and reduce overcrowding in shelters. Together, we can stop the cycle and save lives. 💙
