Merrill College just wrapped up it's Digital Storytelling Camp last week! Over 30 high schoolers spent the week learning from experts about how journalists produce engaging stories for digital audiences today. They made new friends, explored the #UMD campus and gained storytelling skills!

Today would've been the 121st birthday of Shirley Povich, the legendary Washington Post sports columnist and our Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism's namesake. We at the Povich Center and Merrill College are proud to honor his remarkable legacy every day.

Our annual Povich Center summer camp is in full swing! The students are learning from the best in the sports journalism industry. From social media video to finding the story in the game, the campers are having the chance to explore sports journalism, play-by-play, working in sports & more!
