Thoughts are my own, not my employer's.

The U.S. has withdrawn its last troops from Iraq, 23 years after a Republican president launched a war of choice based on lies that cost trillions of dollars, killed hundreds of thousands of people, and unleashed regional chaos. History doesn't repeat, but it often rhymes.

25 years ago today, George W. Bush signed the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force into law. Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against it, warning it would be a blank check for forever wars. History has proven her lonely and courageous vote right.

"Never before in the history of capitalism has so much money been asked from so many people to help so few who screwed up so badly." Here's what I told Conan O'Brien about bank bailouts after the crash of Lehman Brothers — which happened 18 years ago this week.

The War on Terror began 25 years ago today, when Congress passed the post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force. Only one member of Congress had the courage and foresight to oppose this blank check for forever wars: Barbara Lee.

Canada is one of our biggest trading partners. Donald Trump is one of our biggest economic illiterates. Now the rest of us are caught in the crossfire of an idiotic trade war that’s going to hurt regular people more than they’ll benefit.

The most powerful rising force in American politics today is anti-establishment fury at a rigged economic system. Corporate Democrats refuse to see how big money has corrupted America. They — and their billionaire donors — are some of the biggest enablers of Trump's neo-fascism.

The Democratic Party’s mega-donor class is horrified by the rising tide of progressive populism. Too bad. It's time they recognize the real choice is between democracy and tyranny, between an economy that works for all or one that works for a small sliver at the top.

“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

Deafening noise. Extreme water use. Massive electricity consumption. And 70% of Americans don't want them built in their communities. It is time for a moratorium on AI data centers.
