I've been missing writing more & more over the last few motnhs. My old website is dead (😭), & I've been afraid to start somewhere new because I feel like it'll imply a commitment I'm not sure I can give. But the more I think about it, the more taking a shot is needed.

Finally booked my tickets to see The Odyssey, on...two weeks tomorrow. Because that's the first date our nearest IMAX had two seats together for. Quite popular this one, isn't it!
I've exceeded my saturation point with AI flyers. This month they've turned up everywhere around my area. I'm so sick of the sight of them that I worry they might *actually* make my eyes bleed. Taking a hard line on refusing to attend anything that's advertised with one. (/1)
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds: brilliant of course, but unbelievable highlight that ACTUAL KYLIE MINOGUE turned up for a duet of Where The Wild Roses Grow! Stunning day in Brighton!
Just finished The Bear, which was a remarkable show from start to finish. Since S1 & through all the hype, it's stayed true to itself. Rounded characters with real, messy lives that really resonated. Never afraid to take stylistic risks. Could have you laughing & crying in the same 40 mins.
I live in more of a bubble than I realised. Talking to colleagues (my age-ish) about how I'm seeing Nick Cave this weekend, who I'd think of as well-known. Only one had even heard of him. When I mentioned Red Right Hand they knew it was the 'viral' track, were shocked when I said it was from 1994.
Have now listened to Charli XCX's new album a few times. I think it's a very good album by a very good artist. Not flawless but very absorbing, and packs an awful lot of thoughts into its short run time.
My summer of live music has been amazing (with lots still to come!) but very heavy focused 🤘. So today's postal drop balances that out - one of my favourite song collections on lovely shiny vinyl for the first time together!
SO many ppl in Warsaw on Saturday were fellow UK residents going to the gig. Most had the same reason as us: it was cheaper & easier to get to the Warsaw date than the London one. Feels indicative of something rotten that nobody who doesn't already live in the capital can access an event there.
From the range of t-shirts on display, I suspect at least half the people on my flight to Warsaw will also be at SOAD tomorrow 🤘.
Everyone I know who had been there had told me that Gdansk 🇵🇱 was great. And they were right! Beautiful, with loads of interesting history. Wish we were staying an extra day.
I WON THE WORK SWEEPSTAKE! 🇪🇸 ¡Viva España!
One game away from winning the work sweepstake! 🇪🇸 ⚽
System of a Down were excellent in Warsaw 🤘 fantastic setlist, no skips, perfect pacing. Seen some cynicism around about them "just doing it for the money" but they genuinely seemed to be having a great time with each other. Besides when they're this good, give them their cheque!

Waking up to Robert Smith popping off at FIFA on Instagram wasn't on my card for today, but we love to see it!
One thing I've really noticed round ours this World Cup season is loads of young kids in Argentina shirts. Wonder how many of those will be worn tonight 🤔
Sorry to sound like one of those people (IYKYK) but does anybody know whether you can take bags into stadiums in Poland 🇵🇱 (specifically PGE Narodowy in Warsaw)? If so, is there a size limit?
Well, second year of attending 2000Trees and it was just as good as last year. Best vibe, best crowd, best bands. Also, show me a better spot for a stage than the Forest! 🌳 Already booked for 2027. Already cannot wait!
Not just the footie that's got the sporting drama tonight. England currently decimating India in the T20 🏏
Eurovision fans & former fans looking at World Cup fans being appalled at their Swiss-based governing body bending the rules to their will to make politically eyebrow-raising decisions:

Well, looking like the same weather for the same festival this year ☀️. Already got the suncream and fans stocked up!
Can't decide if this is a perfect weather forecast for a festival or a terrible one. At least it won't be soggy!
Needed some r&r so have cancelled all my plans for today, sat on the sofa and now making my 2000Trees playlist. So excited for next week! Weather looking the business too, a couple of degrees cooler than last year so hopefully t-shirts can stay on this year.
I'm off to 2000Trees next week. Their Thursday headliner cancelled yesterday, less than a week out. Within 5 hours of the public announcement they'd sorted a solid replacement. Absolute props to the team, can't imagine how made it must have been. Can't wait to be back in the fields!
We're gutted that Alkaline Trio will no longer be able to make it to 2000trees next week, but health comes first and we wish the band the best. We're actively working on getting something awesome for you all, and you'll be the first to know - stay tuned for more info soon.
Seeing SunnO))) in Liverpool tonight. Turns out it's the same night that My Chemical Romance are playing Anfield. Guess the only question in town is, just how dark do you like your dark. ⚫🖤
Just listened to Lux for the first time in a bit and it took me straight back here. I'm already up & running in an *extremely* music-heavy summer, but it's gonna take a helluva show for anybody to top this one in 2026.
No longer consider this a spoiler as she's put a version of this moment on her own Insta. My version is not the best resolution, but I still love it.
Just received from Tidal. All good as far as I'm concerned. Love that AI can't be monetized in particular. Once again very glad that I made the decision to move away from Spotify a while ago.
Impromptu trip to see Foo Fighters last night. Felt old when I realised the last time I saw them was 23 years ago, at V2003. And that I only knew about 3 songs that they'd released since then. But the classics are still classic.
That result isn't what my sweepstake was hoping for but my neutral heart is delighted for Cape Verde.
Only interest I currently have in the World Cup is that I've got Spain 🇪🇸 in the work sweepstakes. Not a a bad shout at all!
Working on my birthday, but from home so putting on all my favourite records, but they're just all R.E.M. albums because I'm back in that phase
My little tiered planter really needs a prune, but I love it so much when it looks abundant like this 🩷
