NEEDY LITTLE THINGS x THE MORTUARY ASSISTANT Mara can see the last thing the dead saw. When a murdered girl’s final memory reveals Mara’s best friend, who disappeared three years ago, Mara’s gift becomes the key to solving both cases. If it doesn’t get her killed first. #BluePit #📖 #YA #M #W

A nine block moodboard with dramatic, mysterious vibes. The blocks include: mortuary tags, a girl sitting by a grave, undelivered text messages saying I miss you, come back, hands reaching for each other in the smoke, “dead girl walking” chalked into the asphalt, a girl sitting with her head on her knees, police caution tape with blood, Two girls running towards a rainbow while holding hands, a gravestone close up on the words in loving memory.

Bonus day off today because there were no trains running after Storm Éowyn but the words did not happen. How I wish my ADHD didn't run on "oh the first draft is done, the task is finished" logic because... the task is definitely not finished 🥲

I just want to write my silly little stories in peace but I keep getting waylaid by stupid things like “having to work for a living” and “contributing to society” and “being a functional human being”

Would you honour someone’s dying wish if it'd tear apart your family? When Harri starts to reunite a late uncle's iconic drag troupe, he learns the truth about his adoptive mother. Now he must decide if six drag queens are worth more than the woman who first gave him a home. #P2Ppit #A #UW #Q #C

A nine square moodboard. In the four corners are images of drag queens. Central is the title The Dragnificent Seven. Top middle is an image of Soho, London at night. Middle right is a yellow VW Beetle car. Bottom middle is a young man walking away along a path with the sun illuminating him. Middle left is a coastal seafront.

Thanks everyone for the BluePit support! I haven't had much of a chance yet to peruse everyone else's pitches since work has been mad, but it was amazing to see all the incredible stories on display!

The Ascendance has conquered the galaxy and eradicated all alien life, leaving humanity alone for the first time since history began.

Maya is a xeno-archeologist on the dying planet Arthura far from civilization. The orange sky and failing biosphere, along with a life marred by tragedy has made her wish to be among the stars, somewhere she could call home and maybe have children one day. However, she can’t leave until she finds a uncensored record of history that will buy her way off the planet and maybe convince enough people that the Royals deserved to be ones forgotten.

Bethari, a Royal, is looking for a weapon. A weapon to take the ship that has been chasing her for five years. The hunt takes her all over the Vela Cluster and ends with her on Arthura, where she has no alternative but to ask for help.

Once they meet, Maya’s stable life crumbles in days. Freshly branded a terrorist, she is thrust into the galaxy unsure of what she should do or where she should go. Only one thing is certain, going back isn’t an option. When the ancient people of Earth looked to the stars they saw gods. When Maya looked to the stars all she saw was death. New gods born from quixotic ideals and hatred have taken up residence in the black, filling it with fusion bombs, biological weapons and nightmares born of flesh. The Royal’s war had scorched all the wonder from that vault of jewels. Still they shimmered. Still they touched some primordial part of her mind that responded to beauty. Even upon the dying world Arthura, midst the ruins of that long ago conflict, she found comfort in their vast expanse. It was dangerous. Naïve. But she couldn’t stop herself from wishing to be among them.

The once Orvanan city was inhabited by nothing more than a few xeno-archeologists now, or more aptly put: battlefield scavengers. Sure the Royals dressed it up in the finery of a scientific discipline filled with insights from a thousand years of tradition and process, but it was as hollow as the bombed-out shells of homes, buildings of learning and inter-species cooperation. In the desecrated and forgotten remains of their fabled civilization, the founders of a hundred star-system alliance, Maya watched her wife take a drink of water from her backpack. She wished there was more to do than think. Thinking made her poetic.
