Did you know that Signal Hill Studios was ran entirely by a colony of rats? From sets, to the cameras, to even the music, the staff lovingly nicknamed the Rat Crew was behind it all. There's very few things pertaining to the crew image-wise, but we found this old poster fitting for today's post

A week to go until we open the doors to our website! Today, we wanted to share one of the many segments of the Mewscast. MewsQs started in 1960, presumably on the coattails of the Today Show taking call-ins a year prior, but with mail-ins instead, and promptly became a staple in the programme

A lot of our footage of the original archive is incredibly damaged, which is as expected for something as old as The Mewscast! But occasionally we are able to recover a few seconds of footage, like the example below

WHO IS THE HOST? Breaking Mews, the resident host/newscat/what the broadcast required them to be. Optimistic, curious, absurdist in tone, the program hinges on their bizarre antics. It is unsure if Mews was a character or an alias, as the original actor has never been named in our current records.
