I am now in a cab home after an unplanned emergency trip to the South (everything is _fine_, ish), and rarely have I been as glad to be home after a trip.

Music Theory Online 30/1 was published today. This is notable because I didn't have anything at all to do with it, for the first time since April 2011…I hung up my editorial assistant hat in January, having assisted in whole or in part with 13 years of the journal and nearly 500 articles.
We’ve had a fall trip to Acadia National Park planned since February, and looking forward to it was the only thing keeping us going through much of a shitty summer. When news broke that parks would close for a shutdown, we were devastated, so the turnaround today is a very welcome development.
