Trump is literally talking to himself and calling it a negotiation. Trump is hallucinating that the Iranians have put out a statement saying there are talks. There are no talks. We need to sue every MAGA voter for humiliating America this way. Good grief. Trump is a laughingstock.

A newspaper headline- Trump touts talks. Iran denies negotiations.

Here’s where we are. We are told that Trump has stopped the bombing of Iran at the request of his “Gulf allies.” No one can say for sure whether Trump did that because he thinks he was asked by his “golf buddies.” And asking Trump to clear this up would only further confuse the issue.

Where's a Trump Baby balloon when you need one? Fill the skies of America with those Trump as baby balloons until November 3rd. Good grief. It was obvious they screwed up construction on the Reflecting Pool. Trump throws a tantrum. Total baby. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/01/u...

In Dropping Reflecting Pool Case, Pirro Draws Trump’s Wrath (Gift Article)

Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney in Washington, blamed shoddy construction, contradicting President Trump’s pet theory. Mr. Trump said he disagreed “100%” with her.

There is a special place in tech history for Musk. Not for the rockets that explode or the cars that catch fire or the Starlink he uses to help Russia. Musk is a disposable footnote in all those stories. Musk's legacy is that demanding nudification technology run wild is the hill Musk will die on.

In case you were confused, Trump never needed a designated $1.766 billion fund to pay off his political allies and gird their loins for his coup after November. He runs DOJ and DOJ can settle for millions with crooks who pledge loyalty to Trump. It's all corrupt. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/29/u...

With Blanche Nomination at Stake, Payouts to Trump Allies Continue (Gift Article)

A seven-figure settlement was announced hours before senators skeptical about the so-called weaponization fund delayed a crucial vote on Todd Blanche’s nomination to be attorney general.

Mitch McConnell hasn’t been cleared for hospital release b/c you must show, as a patient, you can do basic tasks like eating and toileting, as well as be ambulatory enough for your home environment. At the current level of AI tech, dead people cannot do any of that. So Mitch stays in the hospital.

Nick Adams has stolen a million bucks from his nonprofit, sold raffle tickets but never awarded the promised prize, doesn't do the civics work his nonprofit claims, and he invests heavily in facial skin treatments. Nick Adams is the most unattributed son of Trump ever. www.alternet.org/nick-adams/

Records reveal Nick Adams and his mother took over half of FLAG's revenue, while a promised $1M sweepstakes prize vanished.

That Lindsey Graham is said to be a “towering figure in the Senate” says a lot more about the Senate than about Graham. A legion of hacks and empty suits have roamed its halls over the years. As Crash Davis said about the minor league career homer record, “giant in the Senate” is a dubious honor.

There are more than a thousand differences between Eisenhower and Pete Kegsbreath on military issues. One you might not know- Kegsbreath opposes civilian professors at West Point. Eisenhower started advocating for them more than 50 years before they took his advice. Ike was right. wapo.st/4fo0lts

After Trump’s order, West Point curbed faculty speech. One professor said no.

Tim Bakken argues that the Pentagon's attempt to stifle what teachers can say and write makes the military more susceptible to bad decisions.

There will not be a study "Decline and Fall of the American Empire" because American under Trump is not passing through a process of waning influence- it is simply leaving the game. Trump has America turning its back on the future. EVs are just one example. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/15/m...

The largest U.S. automakers have backed away from electric vehicles, even as global sales are booming. The decision may make them obsolete.

No country’s leader has ever acted more like a mob boss than Trump and his childish demand that he get 50% of the revenue for a bridge that Canada 100% financed. Even Don Corleone would be like, bro, settle for one thitd.

Trump’s war set back the democracy movement in Iran by a generation, gave new life to the IRG hardliners, released billions of dollars to the government, and did diddly to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Trump has also hyper-incentivized Iran to get nukes. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...

Trump’s deal with Saudi Arabia reverses longtime U.S. policy

The deal isn’t expected to require the most rigorous level of U.N. inspections of nuclear sites in Saudi Arabia, and critics say it could fuel a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

Yo, Arlington! I voted the Democratic ballot today, first Sunday for early voting in person in Arlington. Make your voice heard- as Pam Berg says, voting in primaries is like ordering off the menu while just voting in general elections is like taking home leftovers. I voted at the Langston site.

Maybe nothing captures the age like the fact that anti-immigrant forces in America, in order to double down on the violence and gird their loins to the task, followed Mike Howell and celebrated on a yacht on the Potomac. Howell says we need to understand him- but I think we have his number.

Sect 152 of the KY Constitution clearly states that the 2024 law passed by the GOP to deny Gov. Beshear's ability to appoint the late Sen. McConnell's successor is unconstitutional. Kentucky Constitution gives him that authority and only amendment can take it away. No law can. This is an easy case.

Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution specifying now vacancies are to be filled: "Section 152 Vacancies -- When filled by appointment, when by election-- Who to
fill.
Except as otherwise provided in this Constitution, vacancies in all elective offices
shall be filled by election or appointment, as follows: If the unexpired term will end at the
next succeeding annual election at which either city, town, county, district or State
officers are to be elected, the office shall be filled by appointment for the remainder of the
term. If the unexpired term will not end at the next succeeding annual election at which
either city, town, county, district or State officers are to be elected, and if three months
intervene before said succeeding annual election at which either city, town, county,
district or State officers are to be elected, the office shall be filled by appointment until
said election, and then said vacancy shall be filled by election for the remainder of the
term. If three months do not intervene between the happening of said vacancy and the
next succeeding election at which city, town, county, district or State officers are to be
elected, the office shall be filled by appointment until the second succeeding annual
election at which city, town, county, district or State officers are to be elected; and then, if
any part of the term remains unexpired, the office shall be filled by election until the
regular time for the election of officers to fill said offices. Vacancies in all offices for the
State at large, or for districts larger than a county, shall be filled by appointment of the
Governor; all other appointments shall be made as may be prescribed by law. No person
shall ever be appointed a member of the General Assembly, but vacancies therein may be
filled at a special election, in such manner as may be provided by law."

The Mitch McConnell situation is just like the movie “Dave” but they can’t find a lookalike to pose as Mitch. Another week and they’ll hire Kevin Kline and the best make up person available.
