Canadian dad of two boys, husband, official cook in my household. Urbanism, outdoors, fly fishing, and leaving the earth in better condition that it was given to me. Born @ 323 ppm.

Close to 80% of Canadians ARE being duped. Because “Trump bad,” while true, is also apparently a powerful cloaking spell that makes people not see our country being sold off to investors seeking profit, while our environment protections and public service is being wrecked in real time.

You seem to suggest that close to 80% of Canadians are being duped and, presumably, that you are smarter. I suggest that's a rather ridiculous take on a whole lot of different levels. Do I agree with everything he does? No. Do I support him as PM? 200% yes.

I'll be teaching twenty Gr 3 students this fall. This partial back-to-school order would cost $290.38 through my school board and $668.98 at Staples. #DougFord loves talking tough about protecting us from Tr*mp, but he's taking $60M out of public education and handing it to an 🇺🇸 company. #OntEd

Thanks to Doug Ford and Paul Calandra, 80,000 elementary educators have to order classroom supplies from Staples this year instead of from their school boards. I decided to do a little comparison shopping for school supplies many of us will have to order over the course of a school year. 🧵 #OntEd

Prime Minister Carney went out of his way to negotiate a trade deal with gangsters. He held Team Canada together despite the constant insults from the MAGA gang. Canada will go more than the extra mile to find common ground but we will never bow and kiss the gangster's ring. We hold the line.

What we should grasp is that this is what Trump is *for*. It's why fossil fuel companies and the ultra-rich backed him. The kleptocracy, the cruelty, the culture wars, all these, while real & grim enough, distract us from seeing the true purpose of his presidency. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Bike advocacy is about FREEDOM. The most AMERICAN mode of transportation. No license or registration or insurance requirements. Legally allowed almost everywhere. Hop off and suddenly you are a pedestrian too. Anti-bike is anti-freedom, which is anti-America.

The War on Cars@thewaroncars.bsky.social · 3mo ago

There are zero "anti-car activists" (the term being thrown around today) who believe that vital services such as emergency response and sanitation shouldn't be done with vehicles. The issue is personal automobile ownership and the over-deployment of cars at the expense of nearly everything else.

The UN is warning of a food disaster from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the growing climate catastrophe. As Canada hunkers down with massive oil expansion the International Energy Agency is saying it it time to shift dramatically. My latest. substack.com/home/post/p-...

The Clock Is Ticking on a Global Tragedy

Trump continues to blockade Iran while the Iranians maintain the pressure on the global economy. Meanwhile a looming food crisis is building that could be devastating to millions.

Economist DT Cochrane on removing the excise tax on gas: "[O&G] companies have a pretty strong degree of pricing power. That gives them the ability to claim the elimination of that excise tax. The fact we didn't see a drop in the price at the pump suggests that that's what they did."
