I'm seeing a lot of Ayy-Eye 2D animated stuff on my Instagram feed lately, trying to look like classic Disney stuff. Besides the obvious things it gets wrong or lacks (ie heart, hookups, etc.), the biggest thing I notice that makes it so evidently not real is lack of intent in the acting.
In other news, my "dealing with the heat" experiments have been successful. I was able to work all day in the studio without it becoming an oven, thanks to the fireman's method with multiple fans circulating air thru the house. Between that and the temperature leveling off this week, it'll all be OK
Starting a new job today. Intimidated, rusty and a tad overwhelmed, but it’s equally balanced out with excitement, yearning to be challenged and eagerness to do the best job possible. Wish me luck!
I feel bad that I burnt out on ArtFight halfway through the month. There were so many people's OCs that I wanted to draw, revenge pieces to do... but between life stuff and now this insane heat problem, it was a lot harder to make time to sit in front of the comp and do them. Hoping better for '27!
Day 3 of cooling house: In a lovely example of cruel coincidence, our rooftop AC's motor seized, so even if we WANTED to cool the house with AC, we can't, at least until Monday when the repairman can come and assess the damage/costs. Until then, it's box fan city in here. HOME OWNERSHIP, BABY!
The part of my brain that likes to determine the causes and find solutions to problems went into overdrive today, first time in a while, so I’m trying some analog house-cooling experiments. Since the weather is gonna be pretty consistent this week, it’s a good time to doubley-suffer.

With my new job starting next week and no other recourse, I bit the bullet and made and paid to have new insulation and HVAC ducts installed. It'll cost me a bit, so I might offer some commissions to help ease the cost.

I tried my hand at doing a mass attack! Reached into the pile of characters I've been wanting to draw all month and picked ten of the best ones!
Beat Spyro 3 last night. That last part was kind of a slog, but overall I had a blast replaying these games. Maybe one day I'll do a stream playing one of them again. I was gonna play Crash next, but I suddenly feel a pull towards playing Sly Cooper again. I just need to get a PS2 emulator.
Only a few days left in ArtFight and there's so many that I want to do, especially for those who drew my characters. I hope I can get thru a few of them, but if not, I hope I can draw them eventually!

Halfway thru the new season of King of the Hill and it’s so comforting. Even better that it has names of really cool people I know and/or I have worked with in the credits!
Recently 100%ed Spyro 2. Somehow, when I first played the games, I played 1-then-3 and COMPLETELY missed 2, which is the absolute best one. I'm like 80% through 3 now and, while it's still fun, its nowhere near as accessible as 2 was. Spyro 2 might be in my top 5 games of all time now.
The Paramount and Warner Bros merger is officially on hold. The merger will not move forward until June 1, 2027 OR until the courts provide a ruling on the lawsuits facing the merger.
I think Coyote VS Acme is legitimately the only film I was actively looking forward to seeing all year. I can't believe how soon it is to released, and so grateful that it is!
