For those who can’t afford to attend, or refuse to attend a party in a fascist-controlled police state, the message is clear: let them eat cake.

A lot of adopted children are human trafficking victims. I wouldn’t trust what adoptions agencies say about children’s families of origin.

Sports has always been an arena for political conflicts to play out in a controlled setting. At the turn of the 19th Century, white supremacists were desperate to find a white boxer to defeat Jack Johnson, the first Black heavyweight boxing champion...1/5
I just watched the first 2 minutes of the Charlie Sheen documentary & it’s off to a good start. Sheen relays a story about how he was invited to meet the pilot of a standard commercial passenger flight while he was ‘pirate drunk‘… 1/3

I watched a YouTube video by a trans woman on Julius Evola’s fascist philosophy and the comments section was full of vile fascist hatred. All the other videos I could find on Evola described him as a hero and a prophet. We’re doomed.
I got some constructive, definitely not ableist feedback from a philosophy professor at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale.
I was just informed that my friends have been giving money to an alleged photographer from Gaza, Sarah Murtaja. If you Google "Sarah Murtaja," there are multiple results stating that she is a scammer. 1/5
Is Trump going to invade Venezuela? The US navy destroyed ‘at least three’ Venezuelan boats for allegedly transporting drugs (but probably not), and Trump has been saying since 2017 that he wants to invade Venezuela. 1/6
What ‘evidence’ are they going to submit? A copy of Gender Trouble? The Second Sex? The only relevant evidence is in a book on gender theory.
None of these people defended Kirk’s death. None. This is just a smear campaign to get people fired.
Black man found hanged, no foul play suspected. It’s the same story over and over, isn’t it?
Trump’s friends are fascists. Who can deny it? Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade said that homeless people who ‘don’t use the resources given to them’ should be killed by ‘involuntary lethal injection… or something - just kill them.’
Despite popular opinion, I don't think that most leftists - even those who support political violence - are "celebrating" Charlie Kirk's assassination. One reason is that no one knows who assassinated him, or why...1/5

I wish I had looked into this sooner. In my interview for Dialogues on Disability, I noted that the Civil Society Initiative at WashU has engaged in both-sideism: the idea that we should always present “both sides” of an issue without regard to asymmetries of power...1/4

Check out my interview for Dialogues on Disability! An excerpt: In March, Saba Fatima gave an excellent talk at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) on philosophers’ role in the rise of American fascism.
‘We’ll give the homeless a place to stay… kind of like a prison but worse… and the criminals will go to prison… as well as the immigrants... all of my political enemies… Prison for everyone! Everyone’s going to be afraid and my friends are gonna make a lot of money off of all these prisons! -Trump
I'm reading about how Rawls shaped professional political philosophy. He drew a lot of sketchy distinctions: between the domestic and the political, between nation states, between lucky and unlucky citizens... 1/2
I'm reading Rima Basu's excellent paper on why philosophers would publish bullshit. Can anyone recommend other resources on perverse incentives in academia that lead to bullshitting, bad faith, and other epistemic perversions?
I googled "Vittoria Lion: animal" because I'm searching for her work on animal ethics, and Google AI auto-generated this result: "Vittoria Lion is a PhD candidate in Art History at the University of Toronto, not an animal." Well, actually, humans are animals, so...

‘At the end of the day, you all go into debt and you all hate each other. That’s called consumerism.’ This prof’s lecture on Marxism & alienation is pretty good!
Actually, I think part of the reason AI is unfunny is simple: it's programmed to be too polite. But jokes usually have bite. In fact, a lot of jokes are take-downs. For example, I saw a meme today that said... 1/3
It's so annoying when philosophers argue that no one's individual choices make any difference, so it doesn't matter if we kill animals or buy a yacht or commit any other harms. Then other philosophers write paragraphs in response to the no-responsibility premise: 1/4
