so, random question for a friend (seriously ... it was the funniest conversation i've ever had at the bakery!). is there a way to receive payments online (through paypal or another third party) where the real name of the person receiving the money is not public?

people have very strong feelings about the people's choice award. also, random person ... it's great that you're proud about how much you voted, but as per the rules, only one of your votes counted each day ... so, those extra couple of dozen were a waste of your time.

today was muggy and misty … sometimes heavily misty … but nevertheless the buskers persisted. only one show (the first show on thursday because it was too slippy after the rain that morning) was cancelled for the entire festival … which i think is a record in recent years.

there are amazing photographers who come to buskers almost every year and i get so excited when they post their images. people tend to do more stories and reels now, so seeing moments caught in a photograph are a joy! grantisagrant from twitter is one of them … not sure he’s on bluesky.

i learned this morning my neighbours lost their dog … soul, the sweet boy cocoa was obsessed with … suddenly a couple of weeks ago to an autoimmune disease. i was worried that was the case, because i hadn’t seen him or heard them talking to him … but i hoped i was wrong. he was only 2.

friends. this is the first year in my 14 busker festivals that no one, not a single person, asked me about the fireworks. my saturday evenings used to be spent answering fireworks questions. and i once got asked about them as early as march!

i have escaped the saturday chaos of the waterfront and am home in my jammies, freshly showered and drinking a very large amount of water … only thing missing is my cocoa, but i’ll see her in the morning.

y’all know that awful building that used to be the visitor centre by the wave that’s now an eyesore? don’t walk on the wood bits. because your foot might go right through the decking and hurt your body. don’t ask me how i know.
