This is shocking news. Jodrell Bank is more than just a center of excellence for astronomical research, it is a British architectural icon and should be a symbol of national pride. And, personally, growing up just up the road in Alderley Edge, it was a familiar day out when I was a child.

UK's iconic Jodrell Bank telescope faces axe in science cuts www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Is the UK now joining in with Trump’s cultural and scientific vandalism? Is this how Burnham is going to side with America for brownie points?

If EWCB cannot organise a red ball competition (or be bothered) then they should at least organise an Eng v EngA match just for practise. When it could be scheduled, absolutely no idea 🏏

Regaining multi-format points trophies i.e. The Ashes is an uphill struggle if you can't win (or recently, even compete) in the Test match. Not coincedentally, the last time England won the Women's Ashes, was also the last time the won the Test component of the series.

The EWCB need to decide whether they want to take women’s test cricket seriously, in which case some sort or domestic competition is essential, or not, in which case there’s no point playing in the format. #ENGvIND #Cricket

On the day of England's SF v South Africa, the British government are calling on the ICC to recognise the Afghanistan women's cricket team. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper: "International institutions need to stand in solidarity with Afghanistan's women." Over to you, ICC.
