I worked with Rod at the Today programme. He took no prisoners, but he was witty and personally capable of genuine warmth. My sympathy to his family.
We're going to have three days of liberals pretending RL was a good person and freaking out about "the unpleasant left", aren't we.
Quite an alarming number of people replying that they aren't racist and then going on to say some of the most unhinged blood and soil xenophobia you can find. You're not a good person if you think other people's humanity is optional.
