They haven't mounted an expedition to confirm Magnetic North's location in ~50 years. Russian expeditions show that NOAA's modeling is off by 750 km, due to the model being off by an average of 15 km/year for 50 years.

Something incredibly exciting is happening with the top 40 right now. Last week, the track Rein Me In by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean reached 19 non-consecutive weeks at number one. In doing so, it surpasses the 18-week record set by the Frankie Laine single I Believe in 1953. The last time anything threatened to come close was during the first half of the 1990s with Bryan Adams and Wet Wet Wet with soundtracks from popular films.

I'm currently pondering how the BBC's flagship dancing show has a title inelegantly amalgamating Baz Luhrmann's film 'Strictly Ballroom' with the predecessor show 'Come Dancing', and yet TV viewers have simply accepted this for more than 20 years without comment.
There are people queuing up to dish our their criticism of the BBC trailer with Romesh Ranganathan, but here's my 10p: At the end, when Anton Du Beke is told to 'bog off', there was a missed opportunity to have these words spoken by Tracy Beaker. They're synonymous with the character.

Four weeks ago, I received a notification from WordPress that I'd been awarded an Achievement called Palindrome Post. I'd never heard of such a thing, so I took a closer look. This is given for a post with at least 100 words where the word count reads the same backwards as forwards. This could be 121, 1,221, 12,321 or a similar pattern.

We all know who the new Prime Minister is, but I'm waiting to see who becomes First Lord of the Treasury.
A note for future historians: Nick Morgan wrote 'No Scotland, No Party' based on the tune 'La Mano de Dios' by the singer Rodrigo Bueno, but then Scotland fans saw the title of the Morgan song minus the tune and retrofitted it into the 'Seven Nation Army' riff, so that's how most fans now sing it.
