TRMNL completely customizable e-ink display. Beautiful product. Battery last 3 months. Easy on the eyes. Weighs 6oz. I love this shit man (even though I have no idea what I would put on display). Bummed I missed out on the first wave but restock coming in march. 🤞 usetrmnl.com

It seems inevitable to me that we get ads, and I want them to survive. The paid tier however should remove the ads It’s also good to remember if they start pulling engagement levers you don’t like pulled to optimize rev you have multiple courses of action (by design): feeds, clients, and PDS

> Bluesky may eventually experiment with ads in a way that doesn’t compromise the core user experience. That could include running ads in Bluesky’s search results (...) I prefer no ads, but non-intrusive ads in search would be ok. The crucial limit is ads in the middle of our conversations.

Cave's of Qud released yesterday after 15 years of development and I am completely enthralled by the visual work on display here. The info density, palette, and visual artifacts hitting on all cylinders in both the menu system and the environmental design of the gameplay. It's fucking good

It's very minimal in contrast to the other information dense screens in the menu system. The environmental design of Caves of Qud has beautiful moments of symmetry and again a powerful color palette.

pro tip, check your microwave shielding. It’s not unlikely it operates on the same 2.4gHz band as your WiFi and only needs to leak a small amount of radiation before messing with the network. Happened to us. My brother would nuke a burrito and I’d get kicked out of overwatch or get crazy ping

It blows my mind that NASA is able to receive data from 4.67 billion miles away, but I lose Wi-Fi signal in my kitchen.

Just got my rental for the week. The Sony FX-30 is an astonishing build of a product. Feels great in the hand, build quality is top notch minus the plasticky dial in the rear. The style is on point and very utilitarian with the built in 1/4-20 threads I love this for $1500

God I love Remarkable. The product is so good and fun to use. But I returned it today because reading ebooks on it (a major boon for e-ink devices) is awful. If you didn’t know, Remarkable can’t read epubs. It converts everything to PDF, which is slow, some images don’t load, and no reflow options.

my feeds are pretty slow today. I wonder if it has anything to do with the millions of people who joined in the last few days please let me know when you're done for the day so I can take a turn, thank you

Looking ahead to the next four years, which independent journalists or publications are you going to rely on for crucial insights or sanity checks? Can be substacks or whatever I badly need recommendations

What a difference an icon can make for user expectations. Bluesky's DM icon feels way faster, lighter as opposed to X's... email service??? I would wager on the long haul people use bsky’s DMs more casually than on X

A circular speech bubble icon with three dots inside, symbolizing a chat or instant messaging feature, suggesting a quick and casual communication style.A rectangular envelope icon with a minimalist design, resembling an email symbol, conveying a more formal and traditional messaging approach.
