the 9-5 was invented to give us work-life balance but back then only one person worked while the other managed the home now everyone works two jobs: their actual job + all the household shit the system is broken and needs to be rebuilt. specially in the AI era.

humans weren't made for corporate life sitting all day staring at screens, pointless meetings, playing politics to climb a ladder that doesn't exist this shit is unnatural why do we keep doing it to ourselves?

if you're building from Asia, how do you handle the timezone gap? are your customers or people you work with mostly in Asia too? because i don't see how working with US clients is doable

consume less, live more stop scrolling through other people's lives and start focusing on your own thoughts you'll feel more grateful for what you have you'll stop comparing yourself to everyone it's the easiest way to actually feel better

i thought portuguese taxes were crazy until i saw Spain's their rates are insane. and the "autonomo" regime is even worse Portugal has NHR for foreign income and IRS Jovem for young people Spain has nothing close. not even comparable

Portugal isn't cheap anymore groceries cost almost the same as other european countries rent is more expensive than a lot of other big cities the only thing we have going for us? good weather and great food that's it

everything is difficult. you just pick your hard entrepreneurship is hard but so is a 9-5 you hate, a shitty boss, and being underpaid might as well choose the struggle that actually builds something

programming is no longer fun and that makes me sad i still remember my first "SaaS" built on X learned so much, handtyped every line of nextjs the app was shit but i was proud because i built it myself thanks AI for killing that feeling

the problem with building while having a 9-5: you have to sacrifice too much: shipping, fitness, or relationships pick two it's doable for a short period but definitely not healthy long term

just pick one thing and stick to it, bro stop chasing shiny objects stop switching projects just pick one, struggle through it, and don't quit i'm saying this to myself but you need to hear it too
