US slaps import ban on Canadian alcohol and other goods

To any I Love Toy Trains/Lots & Lots of Trains fans who recognize their memorable Sugar Cane Train segments, you won’t like this. The two steam engines of the Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad named Anaka & Myrtle are scrapped after being burned in a wildfire in Lahaina, Hawaii in 2023.

We will never forget what Truck 2, the Emergency Service Unit, and the men and women of the NYPD did that day — and do every day — to keep New Yorkers safe.

We spoke about the courage that ESU demonstrated in our city’s hour of need, and the indelible legacy left by those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On September 11th, they answered that call. Of the 23 members of the NYPD who died in the line of duty that day, 14 were from ESU. Three of them — Sergeant Michael Curtin, Detective Joseph Vigiano, and Officer John D’Allara — were from Truck 2, the unit I visited this afternoon.

Today, I had the honor of meeting members of the Emergency Service Unit, the most elite tactical team in the NYPD. ESU is called to protect New Yorkers during our gravest emergencies.

For years, New Yorkers have demanded access to City records about the lasting health impacts of the horrific September 11th attacks. For years, they have been denied and ignored. That ends today. nyc.gov/sept11docs

Not just that, they were HEAVILY damaged in the Hawaiian wildfires a couple years ago, so it would have cost a fortune and a half to fix them up to like-new condition and re-certify them. I don’t blame anyone for this outcome, but it still breaks my heart regardless.

Neville was so very criminally underrated. If I could rewrite this episode I would have it be that Neville originally came from the Southern region where Thomas used to work and the 2 of them get along well and have either Gordon or James be the one to spread the rumor about Neville.
