New music lover. Record label manager @ Lights And Lines. Guitarist. Enjoys interesting noisy things. Opinionated but nice about it 😘
#NowPlaying Jack White, Acoustic Recordings. As a big Jack White fan this is a very special one for me. A collection of acoustic album tracks, B-sides, remixes, alternate versions, and unreleased tracks spanning The White Stripes, The Racenteurs, and White’s solo career. Well worth a listen!
#NowPlaying Band Of Skulls, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey. Nice bit of gritty bluesy garage rock on a Friday evening after a long, busy week. Big guitar riffs, great vocal harmonies, hard hitting drums. Love it!
Just recorded a test episode of The Inner Sleeve podcast on video. Let’s see how the editing goes but the plan is for you to be able to actually see us in season 2… coming soon!
#NowPlaying Shanghai Treason, Sonder. I can’t resist a good folk-punk album. It’s in my DNA, my dad took me to see Pogues, Motörhead, The Damned, and others that made it impossible to resist. This album is on the heavy side, think Flogging Molly from Yorkshire, with more banjo. Well worth a listen!
#nowplaying The Contortionist, Intrinsic. This double LP dives into a world of sci-fi inspired prog-metal. Weird time signatures and atmospheric melodies spliced with heavy riffs and a precise drums. That doesn’t even really do it justice to be honest. Cool vocal too. Worth a listen.
Contrary to popular opinion I don’t believe that charging a few quid and adding .79 / .59 / .99 at the end will really encourage you to buy a digital album. Actually I’ve decided recently that digital downloads on the Lights and Lines Bandcamp will remain free / pay what you want. And guess what?👇
#NowPlaying James, Fresh as a Daisy. I’m a big album guy, interested in the good / bad / ugly of a project, poured out lovingly across 40-70mins. And James also have some fantastic albums worth exploring, but this Singles comp is an absolute must-have for me. 👇
#NowPlaying Big Brother and the Holding Company, Cheap Thrills. An old one today, 1969 I think. Janis Joplin on vocals before she went solo. This album includes crowd noises to give the impression of a live album, even though it’s not. Very cool bluesy-garage-soul sounding psychedelia. Great fun!
Today’s choice is an obvious one! It’s #BandcampFriday and @gozergoodspeed.bsky.social’s Escape Hatch Fever is now available on sexy, sexy vinyl. The first Lights and Lines release on record - an important milestone for our little label. So of course this is today’s #NowPlaying post!
#BandcampFriday announcements on the way… but before that - what should I be checking out today?

I get fed a lot of ads for ‘free’ CDs. Most of the time they follow the same basic pattern: - Tell me I’m special. The algorithm must love me because I found this great offer. - Tell me the CD is completely free, i JUST pay the postage 👇
Apparently you like vinyl so here’s Lost Chimes self titled debut album, an indie-folk escape into another world that’s full of hidden gems! It’s a beautiful, raw, lo-fi recording which focuses on powerful songwriting, well-thought through instrumentation and Gemma’s superb vocals. Love this album.
Looking for people to send me a video of them saying “Pink Moustache” for a project. Bit of fun to support a future release. You will of course be credited. Send via Dropbox / Drive / WeTransfer or equivalent to contact@headlightsandwhitelines.com with the subject Pink Moustache. Thanks!
#NowPlaying Arxx - Wrong girl, Honey. Cool, punky, noisy, alternative EP. Strong vocals, catchy tunes, and the whole thing has a cool grunge undertone. Plus orange vinyl, cool right?
#NowPlaying Corrosion of Conformity, Wiseblood. It’s heavy metal Monday! Ok I kid made that up… This is a great album though, blues-tinged, southern sounding metal with proper groove, great melody, and some top quality tunes. Love it.
#NowPlaying Wire, Pink Flag. This pioneering post-punk debut is a must-listen. 21 catchy tunes in about 35mins. An authentic sounding album that’s awkward in places and poppy in others. Great production, classic album.
If 1 million people put just £1 each into my PayPal account I will FINALLY publish my book ‘How to make £1mil on Bluesky’
Green River, Dry as a Bone/Rehab Doll. Pure filth. Mark Arm’s high-energy, raspy, howl cuts through fuzzy guitar riffs, heavy bass, an crunchy drums. Grunge was born. Without it we may have had no Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog, Love Battery, or anyone they influenced afterwards! #NowPlaying
#nowplaying Viagra Boys, Viagr Aboys. Easily one of the best albums of 2025. Post-Punk / Modern Rock, a social commentary that holds up a mirror to society and adds a needed dose of absurdist humour. Similar brand of avant-garde rock to King Missile in parts, albeit a bit more polished and less arty
Athlete, Tourist. Someone once described this to me as a poor man’s Elbow. Bit harsh! Yes they’re both melodic and introspective, but that’s about as far as the comparison goes I think. Very cool mix of electronic and organic sounds, great melancholic indie-pop album.
Went to a few charity shops today, picked up 11 CDs for £1 each. This one I is a punt. Never heard of the band, but my sort of era and cool cover. Haven’t had a chance to listen yet but I’m lead to believe this is a prog / funk sort of thing. Looking forward to it! Count Zero, Affluenza.
The S’s were fun yesterday but Friday needs a lift. This extended version of Bomber by Motörhead is perfect. I don’t think I need to describe this one so I? It’s loud, it’s a classic, it’s awesome!
#NowPlaying The Slits, Cut. I was digging around in the S’s and suddenly felt in the mood for some Ska / Punk / Reggae / Art Pop tunes… luckily I found just the album to meet that strange yet pleasing fusion of sounds!
#NowPlaying Mudhoney, Since We've Become Translucent. An expansive alt-rock album that merges elements of psychedelia and jazz with the band’s signature fuzzy core. A masterpiece, it’s diverse, fresh, and polished. Sounds simultaneously nothing like and yet exactly like Mudhoney. One of their best!
The Mary Wallopers, contemporary Irish-Folk with a punk rock attitude. It’s full of energy and urgency, telling stories of survival and oppression. Considered yet raw, defiant but exercises control. Not too much of a stretch to say it sits between The Pogues and Kneecap, rooted in history but fresh.
Fat Freddy’s Drop, Live at the Matterhorn. Years ago this album was on in a coffee shop and it blew my mind! I have a soft spot for live albums anyway but it hit my top 5 instantly. Only 4 tracks but an epic 70min masterpiece, the band describe it as “a raw midnight jam session” - it’s so much more!
A while ago I released a punk album. The idea was to improve my mixing skills. The production isn’t perfect, if I was to go back now there’s lots I’d change. Not that I would go back, it represents a milestone in my life and I’m happy with that. Fancy a listen? Here are some free download codes
