Got to the last episode and it completely fell apart. Relatively fine narrative payoff but the allegorical story existing in parallel gets dropped in favor of a hacky “family trauma mental illness is the REAL demon” climax. Further evidence authors should not be the ones to adapt their own material

Both the staff & the patients are frustrated by/sympathetic towards each other. Everybody’s under the same thumb, yet they still feel their lives would be better just one rung up the ladder
