I hope to destroy the stigma attached to #MentalHealth, fight to help those struggling with #Depression, and do all I can to end #Suicide.

You playing judge & jury to someone who’s struggling w/depression & thoughts of suicide by extension could put you in the role of executioner too. That’s a perfect trifecta to end someone’s life. Your words/actions have more of an adverse effect on someone who’s battling demons.

People who are struggling mentally and with thoughts of suicide by extension shouldn’t have to be fearful about coming forward for help. They could potentially lose their lives because the healthcare systems failed them, and what’s worse, is that they don’t seem to care.

You’re allowed to be mentally unwell. You’re allowed to feel pain. You’re allowed to have said pain adversely affect you. You’re also allowed to get help for said pain. Most importantly, you’re allowed to be a human being. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Your life could depend on it.

Suicide is the absence of hope. Hope that the pain will subside. Hope that you aren’t all alone. Hope that there are better days ahead. As long as there is life, there is always hope. With death, all hope is truly lost. Please don’t ever give up hope on yourself.

You should absolutely celebrate your day of survival from suicide. It’s a glorious day. You should be proud of yourself. Many of us are proud of you. Thank you for being here, even when life was trying to rid the world of your presence. I pray you’re feeling better since then.

Suicide, due to depression, is an attempt to escape a pain that occupies their minds and torments it. It isn’t a conscious decision made with a sound mind. Too bad you can’t ask the millions of people who have already died for confirmation, but sadly, this world wouldn’t allow that.

Do you know how much pain a person would have to be feeling to believe that death was a better alternative to living? Suicide isn’t a first response, but sadly, without the proper support and professional treatment (if necessary), it is the final response.

I’ve been suicidal. Telling you this isn’t for sympathy but rather to let you know that you’re not alone. Saying that isn’t an attempt to belittle how you’re feeling, but rather an attempt at solidarity. It may sound cliché, but we are all in this together, and that’s the only way we survive.

The pain a mind feels when struggling w/depression is torturous & only worsens with time & the lack of professional help. Suicide is the dreaded end stage. It’s an escape plan from an unbearable pain that mere words couldn’t describe, & if they could, who would listen w/o judgment?

As Christians, we are called to help each other carry the crosses we bear, no matter how inconvenient we believe it may be to us. Christianity isn’t a cafeteria. We can’t pick and choose only the things we like. It’s either all or nothing.

It isn’t a “failed suicide attempt”. It’s surviving suicide. Suicide is the dreaded end stage of depression, not an effort to pass a test. Don’t misunderstand. The war hasn’t been won, only a battle not lost. There’s still much to do to get mentally healthy.

You’d know that suicide due to depression isn’t a sign of weakness, cowardice, or taking the “easy way out”, if you were in their minds the moment before. You’d know if you could look into their tear-soaked eyes before they close forever. It’s nothing but a tragedy and heartbreaking.

If “thinking more positively” were a viable option for anyone struggling with depression to feel better, don’t you think they would have done it already? The solution is, unfortunately, far from being that simple. Nobody wants to struggle mentally. If you’ve been there, you’d understand why.

An intruder broke into someone’s home. Tormented them to the point where they were desperate to free themselves from the pain. An effort was made to escape, in the process, they sadly died. Are they cowardly? Then why, when someone dies by suicide due to depression, do you do just that?
