in the light i see your face differently. a camera can't seem to capture it. paint could never hold its shape right. the texture, the depths, the detail. impossible. the way your eyes peer into me. the telepathic connection, electricity broadcast from one mind to another. from your soul to mine. are you even aware of the way you draw me in?

On Trusted Voices

I often feel that there's a lot of us who have put trust in very specific people for a really long time. It was comforting to have the same rotation of faces be the sources of your moral judgment, that there was some welcome continuity between the things that they were teaching you and the actions you were supposed to take.

What if immortality wasn't a matter of one life lasting all eternity, but rather one set of knowledge being imbued into and expanded upon, one life at a time. Is this not already how things are? Is real immortality just the stories we share and whose memory lasts after we're no longer here?

The Library of an Immortal Soul

The narrative explores a desperate search for immortality within a mystical library guarded by ancient forces. A captive protagonist faces mercenaries demanding secrets from their past lives while confronting the futility of their quest, ultimately leading to a dramatic confrontation with their captors.

I really benefit from being grateful for correction. I hate being wrong. So I appreciate when people can help show me the truth. In earnest. Why stay wrong? Take in the new information and respond with thanks rather than contention. I was the one that was wrong, I need to do better too.

Forever and Then Some Writing Prompt: "Two immortals are slowly coming to terms with the fact that what they each thought would be a short 50-60 year marriage to a mortal is turning out to be a much longer commitment." "I followed you to your 'clinic' appointment today." She declared as he passed…

Writing Prompt: "Two immortals are slowly coming to terms with the fact that what they each thought would be a short 50-60 year marriage to a mortal is turning out to be a much longer commitment." "I followed you to your 'clinic' appointment today." She declared as he passed the living room. The sunset filled the window behind her, her face lost in the shadow.

It's wild to me that a whole bunch of nutjobs stormed the capital because of a lie, but the sane people aren't storming the capital because of the truth. A dictator is manifesting disastrous change and no heroes are coming to the rescue. People just keep hoping they'll play by the rules.

Wild that America is devolving into a technocratic oligarchy. So fucking fast too. I feel like I've grown up witnessing our collective futures being siphoned away, now we just get to watch the final spiral as it goes down the drain. No one seems to be coming to save us. Where are the heroes?

The real looting in California begins when corporate landlords start price gouging on rent, and private equity firms swoop in a start gobbling up fire-damaged properties in working class neighborhoods and reselling them at huge, unaffordable markups.

Some people think the culture war is directed at them, but it’s not a war on their culture, it’s a war on their beliefs, their disconnection from reality. Their thinking about reality is so warped by deeply held lies that that’s why they feel attacked when we point out objective truths to them.

Time to celebrate the birthday of one of the most lauded empathetic egalitarians of human history. Just remember Yeshua told us to love and care for each other. We were supposed to learn kindness and to work together for a better world. Oh, and this isn't his birthday.

The true measure of a nation lies not in the battles won, but in the lives made better. A country thrives in the fertile soil of peace, where progress blossoms and the lives of the people, each a precious bloom, bear fruit a hundredfold under benevolent reign.

Dreams can only become real if they are shared. I dream of leaving a better world for the people that come after me. If we all share that dream we can make it become our reality. What are your dreams? How do you wish the world would be better for us now?

Ending exploitation creates equity by removing oppression, not opportunity. Workers shouldn't struggle to afford their single lifetime, paycheck by paycheck, while their wealthy bosses horde hundreds of lifetimes worth of their laborers' wages. Raising wages for workers is a benefit to all.
