VP Broadcasting at Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting (WYEP/WESA). Radio nerd. Host of the PencilPod podcast.* All opinions my own. (Untrue. I felt left out since everyone else has one, so I George-Glassed it.)

In late winter, an ice chunk fell from the roof after some subzero days. The ice landed perfectly on the hose bib and destroyed the valve knob. I finally got around to replacing it today, much to my wife's delight for gardening purposes. Never had luck with plumbing stuff. Fingers crossed.

Sure, but even then, Scott Kannberg said in the Lolla oral history book that "I’m pretty sure that (the mudslinging) had been going on before us, when Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Jesus Lizard played." Pavement didn't ruin it. Clearly Metallica was the band that ruined Lollapalooza. No contest.

Strolled up to see some of the leading runners in the Pittsburgh Marathon. The number of people pulling up to the cop directing traffic at 5th and Penn desperate to find a way out of the loop we're in is amazing. This event happens. Every. Year.

Has anyone ever composed a covert avante-guarde symphony? One that sounds like a normal symphony for, like, 10 minutes but then it goes into a 5 second loop and repeats the loop for another 10 minutes?

If only Mr. Rogers was still with us, he could've come out to announce the Mr. Irrelevant pick of the NFL Draft and sang "You Are Special" to him. Wouldn't have been a dry eye in the house, not even among Eagles fans
