Tonight we continue our tradition of watching our favourite scary movies before Halloween with ‘The Haunting’. Great film version of the the Shirley Jackson classic The Haunting of Hill House’. Terror with minimal special effects. Just a great story and a wonderful cast. One of the all time greats.

Tonight we’re celebrating season with @rclas.bsky.social! Some readings from dead authors by live ones. Man I hope I didn’t get that backwards!

Tonight we continue our tradition of watching our favourite scary movies before Halloween with ‘The Blob’. The original Steve McQueen as a teenager with the most danceable theme song to a 50’s horror movie. So much fun.

Tonight we continue to watch our favourite scary movies before Halloween with ‘Child of Glass’. Another from when Disney used to make scary movies. Not super scary, but scary for Disney scary. No gifs for this one. It was hard enough to find a copy. Let’s just enjoy Walt’s reaction to the film…

Obama: "That well-known evil empire Canada. That historical adversary of ours. Canada! *laughs* It's your neighbor. It's a few minutes' drive over the bridge! These are the people who gave us Martin Short and maple syrup. They are the nicest people! And someone we've gotten them so mad."

Sold out event @writersfest.bc.ca this morning on Canadian Sovereignty…as it should be.

Second part. Dinner at home and the continuation of our tradition of watching our favourite scary movies before Halloween with the original ‘It’. Locally shot, strong TV cast led by the late great Tim Curry.

Double tonight. First Robert Weirsema and @liznugent.bsky.social in Conversation and trying desperately to give any of the plot away from her new book ‘The Truth about Ruby Cooper’. Great Friday night event @writersfest.bc.ca .

Finished the night @writersfest.bc.ca with this lively panel made up of Kim Fu, Daniel Zomparelli and Doretta Lau with moderator Robert Weirsema. So when does he finally get his own talk show?

Great event @writersfest.bc.ca with @liznugent.bsky.social @williamwodhams.bsky.social and Alex Spring talking about their processes. Two new authors to check out and one favorite to enjoy more of. Honestly I cannot think of a better way to find new authors than by hearing from them in person.

Great talk at second @writersfest.bc.ca event with Iain Reid and Ellie Foumbi. But hey, second event with no reading from the book so we don’t get a taste of it. No mention of the book name(makes it hard to buy but not impossible). And for an Event titled ‘Horror in Hollywood’ it lacked ‘Horror’.

Best line of the Patrick DeWitt event @writersfest.bc.ca so far… Your book makes me want to punch a hippie, not any hippie but a specific one.

First @writersfest.bc.ca event is Patrick DeWitt. Full house!

The only way to travel to @granvilleisland for the @writersfest.bc.ca !

Tonight we continue our tradition of watching our favourite scary movies before Halloween with a Disney classic ‘Something Wicked this Way Comes’. Yes Disney used to do truly scary movies and here’s one of them. No image, Bluesky needs to catch up on the classics.

Tonight we continue our tradition of watching our favourite scary movies before Halloween with remake of ‘The House on Haunted Hill’. Who would have thought a Chris Kattan movie would be so scarily good.

Today we voted in advance for the Provincial Election. Two votes cast, two days. Advance voting though had a line up longer than civic voting yesterday. Maybe people are finally finding their voices…

Tonight we continue our tradition of watching our favourite scary movies before Halloween with’The Changeling’. Great locally shot film with George C. Scott at his scenery chewing best! share.google/WZRyJkfZKzlc...
