War crime? It's more complicated than at first blush, but yes: Specifically targeting civilian infrastructure or populations *expressly as retaliation* is a war crime. It's called "reprisal," and it's what the Nazis did in occupied Europe. Not good company.

Some are struggling with multiple irreconcilable truths. Both these things are true, but don't deny one to accommodate the other. 1. The current supine senate is enabling crime and corruption. 2. Platner is a sex criminal and Nazi and should go home. Yeah. It sucks. But don't abandon morals.

I have spent many summers in Albania starting in 1995. It is a remarkable country. I fear the surge of tourism, especially in Theth, but I also recognize it is the hope of the locals. I hope they retain ownership. See our book, Light and Shadow, on the deep history of Theth and the Shala valley

Enjoy this article from a Minnesota newspaper in 1882 noting that Scandinavians love their home countries so much that it will take them generations to assimilate into America. www.loc.gov/resource/sn8...

Does anyone know if the pentagon is actually shifting serious R&D (and procurement) $ into this problem? The old mass vs. quality binary is gone, and as this title suggests, I fear we're getting left behind. www.mca-marines.org/gazette/exqu...

Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: I know how to make the Americans understand. It is through the logic of power with which Iran now speaks. We will charge ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz after a 60-day 'fee-free' period, stipulated in the MoU with the US.
