welcome fellow milestone B-day person 💞! I’m in the US so I check out the books later in the day here, but I enjoy it! Just trying “Thinking, Fast and Slow”. Usually I’m a cozy mystery person so neurology is different for me but it’s interesting and straightforward, two chapters in!

I spent large parts of childhood & young adulthood homeless. My mom was a nurse. A lot of homeless have jobs. It’s only getting worse. Most homeless books are by sociologists. This is by a journalist. He gets it. Well written & researched, heartfelt. @brian-goldstone.bsky.social #catchatbookclub

I really enjoyed Playing for Love by Jeevani Charika, a four star romance from my TBR. Two people who know each other slightly from their business incubator bldg unknowingly team up in an online gaming competition. Both of them find bravery when they need to. #CatChatBookClub 📚💙 Happy Birthday!🍰

Recommended in a prior #catchatbookclub. Best book I’ve read this year. Really enjoy the chapters written from the POV of Marcellus, the Octopus. He is one of the best characters I’ve come across in a while.

For this month’s “Book from TBR pile” reading theme, at #CatChatBookClub mum chose “Guilty by Definition” by Susie Dent. She really enjoyed the novel & her thoughts are attached. UK pals may be familiar with Susie in Dictionary Corner on Countdown! A cosy-ish crime. Recommended

I chose the excellent layered novel News of the World by Paulette Jiles, about an aging war veteran who in 1870 travels with his 2 horse companions in his wagon loaded with current newspapers to news-starved areas in Reconstruction territory western U.S. #CatChatBookClub

I find most books are better than the movie version BUT there are exceptions. Maybe a future #CatChatBookClub theme where the movie is considered better? I’ll go first: Gone With The Wind

This was my fav in the Cat in the Stacks series so far. A modern day murder linked to one from 200 yrs ago. Also included bonus story of how Charlie met & adopted Diesel the cat. Diesel reminds me of Kitty 🌈 (also a Maine Coon). Loving this series. #catchatbookclub

A friend recently recommended to mum an audiobook version of Wuthering Heights which mum found to be OUTSTANDING! 🙌 🎧 It’s an absolute classic & one of mum’s favourite books. Aware that a new film version came out this year, mum watched that too #CatChatBookClub (1 of 3) Cont’d
