The last of the werewolf books from the 1930s to be reprinted, LYCANTHIA by Frances Layland-Barratt, will be available to order on Amazon from next week. Introduced by James Doig - this is one of the *rarest* horror titles out there and one not to be missed.

Ah, thank you so very much, Kaye - glad you loved it so!
Absolutely bombed through "The Devil's Cauldron", a sure sign of a great book. So now I have three book reviews to write! Thanks everyone for their patience, hoping some sort of normal service will resume this weekend. For now I will say this is a captivating read from @mislaidbooks.bsky.social.
I'm proud to announce that through Mislaid Books, we'll be publishing Edith Nesbit's lost novel THE MARDEN MYSTERY. It only exists in newspaper format, so may be abridged - however, unless a copy of the novel turns up, we'll never know. This will be reprinted alongside other lost short stories.
Mislaid's aim for late 2026 - a crime/horror novel called THE GINGER CAT (1929) by Christopher Reeve (Dorothy Webb) and a Jack the Ripper-esque work called MAN MADE ANGRY (1932) by Hugh Brooke (co-writer of the film DONOVAN'S BRAIN). Also incoming is the first MISLAID MISCELLANY.

Thrilled that THE DEVIL'S CAULDRON has arrived at Mislaid Mausoleum - doesn't it look perfect alongside AT THE CHANGE OF THE MOON?

Some great news for THE SEVENTH WAVE - Oscar's family are allowing me to reprint a drawing Oscar was gifted when he was living in Borneo (now Sabah) - a sketch of a village he was the District Officer of.
Mislaid Book is proud to announce its latest volume, THE SEVENTH WAVE by Oscar Cook in June. A Borneo-set yarn featuring headhunters, a sacred skull, a love-triangle and suicide. Book comes out in June on its 100th anniversary. Today is also Oscar Cook's birthday, born this day in 1888!

April's release is the never-before-reprinted and *extremely* rare LYCANTHIA by Frances Layland-Barratt from 1935. It's the last of the werewolf cycle from the 30s and 40s to be reprinted. Can only hope that Steinbeck's unpublished werewolf novel MURDER AT FULL MOON is published one day!
The next book from Mislaid will be THE DEVIL'S CAULDRON by J.W. Nicholas, a mesmerism novel from 1886. Nicholas was the coroner who oversaw the infamous Mabel Greenwood poisoning case in 1919. Book contains an essay on Nicholas' life and a brief essay about mesmerism and the fiction it spawned.
