I don't bring them up very often, but I do have merfolk in my world. They're pinnipeds, so they don't live fully underwater, but many of them are involved with the organization of international trade routes, ensuring the trade ships can travel safely from port to port.

You'll get a different answer from all of them. But the pixies, despite their short individual lifespans, may have the most detailed history. Their hive minds allow them to carry memories on through the generations, so while other folks lose details of their history over time, the pixies do not.

The pixies are the most technologically advanced by a long shot. They are slowly sharing that tech, starting with radio and telegrams. They wear mini vibration-based vocoders just to talk to vertebrate people. It makes them all sound like tiny robots. Very monotone early computer voices.

They've prioritized medical advancement in different ways. Orcs have the most advanced dentistry. Drow developed a specialized type of HRT before they had a word for hormones. Overall, the world has fairly advanced medical science in part because of healing magic.

Pixies. Giant sapient wasp-bees. They look more like wasps but their hive societies are structured more like that of bees. The largest pixies are the "queens" at about 6 inches. Most pixies are 3-4 inches long.

The centaurs are massive, standing on average around 12ft tall and close to 8ft long from their lower chest to their tail. Their closest animal relatives were the chalicotheres, an ice age megafauna group most well known for the "gorilla horse" variety (though there were other chalicotheres)

Definitely the quetzalin, my birdfolk. They're the youngest people species, so they've had a lot less time to grow their population, and they're mostly all living in just one area of a tropical rainforest while almost every other people species has managed to spread to locations around the world.

By numbers it's the pixies, because they are giant sapient wasp-bees. A single hive can have a population well into the thousands, and they'll have multiple hives within the range of a single town populated by any other people. For the vertebrates though, probably goblins, with elves close behind

The gnomes believe the sun is a watchful deity. His light is a guide, and he guards the boundary between life and death. They also believe he is married to the mountain goddess, so sunflowers are an important cultural symbol for the gnomish religion.

The sun is normal, but the world has the lose beginnings of a plantery ring, and two small moons alongside a larger one. So the nights are quite bright from the extra sunlight reflection.

Drow Matriarchs wear a special veil. They are both the mothers of all the drow, and the living connection to their deity, Arakia. So they keep their faces obscured behind a lacy silk veil decorated with bright gems in the shape and arrangement of spider eyes.
