This is not a border crossing. There’s no law that any of us have to show our papers on the interior. This is a blatant civil rights violation. How is anyone supposed to know whether this man is a real ICE agent or just pretending to be one?!

Things to consider: Document the violence & violations--on camera, w/photos, saving images--any way you can. Speaking as a historian- it will matter Point out violations--w/images & text--even if you think it won't matter. It will. It needs to be called out & exposed You are a witness. Expose it.

You. Are. Allowed. To. Insult. The. Police. It’s a core First Amendment principle. This is utterly lawless behavior, for which there will be no (short-term) consequences. That he does it so casually, as they are walking away, in front of cameras. Rightly confident in his impunity.

I don't know if people -- in general -- know what "authoritarianism" is. I don't know if they really know what "fascism" is. But I think they're far clearer on what a dictator is. Choice of words is very important right now.
