Second-last day of vacay & I suspect hubby has generously gifted me his cold. 🥴 Meanwhile, my winter prep list remains long….need to complete before Saskatchewandecides winter should start… All I want to do is drink coffee, curl up under a blanket, and resent the passage of the seasons. 🍂❄️

The best part of waking up the day after celebrating Thanksgiving? Leftover pumpkin pie & a steaming hot cup of coffee with frothed oat milk for breakfast. 🥧☕️ Today, no cooking, no fuss, just autumnal bliss. Honestly, why can’t every Monday start this way? 🍂😊

I’m all for kids taking part in fun charity runs(pets too!)…but parents, please teach them not to suddenly stop in the middle of the lane and bend over to tie a shoe.😩 Nearly squashed one like a bug & rolled my ankle trying to avoid them. Nothing says “charity run” quite like donating an ankle.🥴

Up at silly-o’clock after a late shift for a charity run, with a knee that’s already bothering me. If you hear on the morning news about a gangly middle-aged kook who couldn’t control his limbs, tripped, causing a massive pileup of elbows, knees & ankles…don’t worry. It was probably just me. 😂

3 months ago, my trees were freshly pruned. Fast-forward to this morning, and they’ve apparently regrown out of pure spite. 🌲🌳😂 Today, a full Texas Chainsaw Massacre reenactment with hedge trimmers. The 🍃 bin is FULL, a big pile by the shed, & I’ve tackled 3 cedars, 2 elms, 1 bush, & a mugo pine.

The best way to describe the scent of honey & lemon simmering on the stove? Liquid sunshine. 🍋🍯☀️ Sweet, bright & warm… then, just as I have this thought, my pot boils over. Cue me lamenting the loss of some of my precious preserves while cussing the smoke, mess, & extra cleaning I’ve just earned. 🥴

Dear Lord, why am I wide awake at 1 a.m. with “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic” blasting in my brain? 🧸🎶 Of ALL the songs, my brain chose to host a woodland rave…Bears in leather, rabbits behaving scandalous. And me? Dead tired & held hostage by a flipping teddy bear melody…🤷‍♂️
