Been trying to geo locate where this exactly is but have failed so far. It’s in the Balkans though #wingfriday returning to London from Istanbul and it looks so intricate from above.
Completely forgot about #wingfriday so this is one on arrival into Istanbul from Seoul a few weeks back at stupid o’clock in the morning.
Feels like shouting into an endless hole on here, but anyway.. I would love to know how some of my friends go in for every Arsenal ballot and have had a maximum of one success this season, but every non season ticket holding TikToker gets a 100% success rate. Please someone explain that to me👂
Poor weather means not too much flying is going on, but it does give the opportunity to get this beauty ready for the day the heavens decide it’s enough #aviation
Saw this absolute beauty at Halfpenny Green today. Not sure how many there are in the UK but it wouldn’t look out of place in somewhere like Anchorage. Stunning.
Qantas flight from Perth to Heathrow managed to turn around in just two hours last night before heading back on its 18 hour trip. I wonder if this was actually a record and spending 36/38 hours in the air sounds crazy.
Got onto a Tu134 yesterday, which was unexpected and thanks to a Ryanair flight delay. Really loved seeing these and the Tu154 back in the day at Heathrow.
Good to see Edinburgh trams have today finally added touch in touch out with your card into their menu of payments. Guaranteed lowest fare, so much better when you know you’re getting the best deal.
Off to Wolverhampton for a VE Day commemoration. If you’re lucky enough to be in the area, I hope you enjoy watching this marvellous machine. P51 ready to go.
HS2, a literal scar on the beautiful countryside of England. I hope when it’s finished that it will have been worth it!
Got to love @tomswarbrick.bsky.social for saying ‘if Katy Perry is an astronaut then I’m a footballer because I went to Wembley to watch a football match once’. You and me both Tom. Bravo.
Stratford-upon-Avon and Dudley from an almost empty sky today. Fantastic weather all across the midlands and a little hazy closer to London but hardly any air traffic🤷♂️ #avgeek
Cheeky attempt by the MP for Harlow earlier during the statement about the fire that affected Heathrow. He asked the transport secretary to consider allowing Stansted to be given some transatlantic routes so as in the future there would be less disruption if another airport went off line. Good one.
You have to love Sky’s coverage of the problems at Heathrow today. Spend an age slagging off British Airways and their response to their customers(no information, no staff to talk to, not assisting with hotels etc etc) and then going to a break and the advert is for British Airways attentive crew!
Nice to have some good weather back and get the mustang in the air yesterday. Having a little photo shoot after the flight. #avgeek
I mean we have issues in the UK with inadequate politicians, but this press conference is off the scale.
Rachel Reeves about to approve a third runway for Heathrow, a second one for Gatwick and a doubling of capacity at Luton. Great news, plus I think they’ve got rid of the system where you can object to anything so if she says it’s happening, it’s happening!
Well camouflaged and to be honest, a forlorn looking Westland Wessex XR529 at the Crumlin Road Gaol in Belfast.
American Airlines AA105 returning back to Heathrow after earlier issues and landing in Iceland. Don’t think the residents will be much impressed by the excuses though, way way after curfew!
Bedford Aerodrome literally full of cars now. I’m guessing they’re mainly electric ones.
Another day out and another day with very little air traffic, the radio was so quiet but it was so serene. Pepperpots near Doncaster.
Late #wingfriday this week general aviation. No one seemed to want to fly yesterday so had the whole sky to ourselves
Always good to hear the Cavok air AN12 over the football commentary at Craven Cottage
Sad to see planes like this, they actually looked like huge Lego toys from a distance. Hopefully something good is happening to them, perhaps a new home beckons.
